High Close is a beautiful lodge holiday home park, set in some of the most stunning landscape in the Northern Lake District, close to Bassenthwaite village and Keswick. The park has been in the same ownership since 1975 and many of our holiday home owners have been here a very long time. The lodges here are all privately owned, and solely for the enjoyment of the home owner, their family and friends.

We don't have any rentals or tourist activities. This keeps the park a very quiet and peaceful place. Tucked away in Park Wood, alongside a sparkling beck where otters and salmon have been sighted, the park is one of the Lake District's best kept secrets. Perfect if you love star gazing, as there is no light pollution in the area, so on a clear night the skies are literally breath-taking.
Services
We are very proud of our park and we strive to manage it for the mutual benefit of the holiday home user and the environment. This achievement has been recognised, as we have been awarded the David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award from 2004 to 2021. Sadly the scheme has now come to end in 2021 following the passing of Mr Bellamy.
We have 27 acres of woodland around the park and some beautiful natural landscapes. A well maintained recreational grassed area which is fantastic for children to play on or for adults to sit and relax and enjoy the wildflowers. There are endless number of walks which are suitable for the less adventurous, but never the less, offer views over some beautiful scenery, looking towards Skiddaw and Little Dodd.
We are just outside the village of Bassenthwaite. Only 7 miles from the popular Lake District market town of Keswick and 8 miles from the historical town of Cockermouth. When reaching Bassenthwaite village, you need to be over the stone bridge and other side of the beck behind the Sun Inn.

You need to take the road to the right towards Park Wood, continue up the road for approximately half a mile and you will see the entrance to High Close on the right which has a slate sign standing in the ground to the left of the entrance.Leave the M6 at junction 40 and take the A66 towards Keswick.
