At Queen Elizabeth Park we understand the challenges families and carers in the community often face when caring for an elderly loved one and, how difficult it can be to know where to turn for guidance and support.

I have visited the same resident on three occasions and have been somewhat disturbed by what I saw. The room was very small with no outlook other than a brick wall. Whilst the staff were friendly I was concerned that the call button was not easily to hand. The activities offered were very limited and included 'sorting laundry' - an occupation that may suit dementia sufferers but is certainly not designed to stimulate the brain. Lunch was served whilst I was there and looked very unappetizing. My overall impression was that this home would depress anyone.

Mother spent three weeks in the home for respite - third home I've tried in the area. QEP is head and shoulders above the others. The staff are very kind, and very responsive and efficient. They pay attention to the kind of detail that makes the difference between an elderly, rather befuddled lady feeling comfortable and being even more befuddled and very uncomfortable. It is such a relief to know there is somewhere she can go for respite (and maybe full time in due course) where she will be properly cared for.

I have returned to Queen Elizabeth Park after 9 years. The owners and staff have done a great deal to this lovely care home. It is bright, stylish and very, very clean. Most of the staff still there and happy to work there. Residents and relatives adore them. The Head chef, yeah still lovely Carole, is trialling gorgeous spring menu... best chorizo breakfast muffins I ever ate.

I would like to say how extremely impressed I am with Queen Elizabeth Park care Home, my mother moved in, in May 2015 and the care she has had has been outstanding, she regularly takes part in various activities, the staff take her out shopping as well as to bingo. I know that she is in the best possible place. The staff have all been helpful and made the transition as easy as possible.

Ive worked at QEP for 8 years now, I started as a house keeper, and progressed now to a senior carer, I thoroughly enjoy working here, its like my second home, I enjoy coming in to see the residents and the staff, its like a one big happy family, as a whole the company do look after there staff, we get carers weeks, heart of gold awards, carebase school day which all staff at qep are involved. I feel very supported by the management team and feel I can approach anyone in management and head of departments.

I am the hairdresser at Queen Elizabeth Park and have worked there for nearly 10 years. Since working in this line of work I have and still do work in many residential/care homes and hands on heart this is the only care home that I would consider putting my father in if it was needed. Any of my friends and family can vouch that I always sing praises for this care home, the quality of care is exceptional and the staff that work there all deserve the heart of gold award as that is exactly what they have. I like to get involved in the activities as much as I can as they are a joy to join in and seeing

I am amazed that a care home is run in such a very bad way, people are paying up too £1400 a week, the nice lady Carol Head that was the heart of Gold winner last year buys cheap lemonade at 17 pence a bottle because that is all the residence drink,
The owners are very, very generous they are giving the residence £4 each as a Christmas present, please tell me what my relation can buy for that amount when they are not allowed too visit the shops.
Thank goodness they have staff that are very caring and look after the old folks very well.
