We were originally founded in 1847, long before welding replaced rivets as the accepted method of joining two bits of metal. It wasn't until the early 1980's, after many years experience in the chemical industry, that we became involved in the offshore oil and gas industry and were required to further develop our certification of welding operations to satisfy the demands of that industry.
We offer advice on the appropriate test or tests that an individual may need to take to satisfy customers needs and for companies not having their own welding procedures we test to one the wide range of procedures within our own portfolio. We arrange all post weld non and destructive testing as required, liase with additional third party witnesses as may be involved and issue final certification in accordance with the appropriate standard.
There is considerable myth uncertainty and many misconceptions about welding and in particular welder approval testing. So called experts like nothing better than to add to the confusion. There is a lot of information to assimilate and understand, but the basics can be explained fairly simply and the myths dispelled, which I will try to do below.
