Carrying the legacy of William Sutton (also known as The Old Duke), this Duke Street hotel stands as perhaps the most prevalent memorial to Southport's fascinating founder. Erected a mere stone's throw from the site of the Old Duke's Original Hotel, the Dukes Folly's earliest records date back to 1861 - just 7 years after the Original Hotel was demolished in 1854.
Time is valuable and memory is something to treasure. Organising your birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, christenings and reunion parties at the Dukes Folly Hotel ensures a memorable and happy occasion for all. Southport is a town for events. Our Southport Theatre and Convention Centre is one of the best convention centres in the Northwest.
We are so excited to finally be able to welcome everyone back and cannot wait to see you all. We are making sure we have everything in place for a safe reopening and once our staff have been briefed and trained on our new procedures we will let you all know how we will be operating.

As plans are being made to implement a permanent restaurant at the Duke's Folly Hotel, we welcome guests to order food in an unofficial capacity, before the restaurant is opened. We are also proud to announce our new public bar, which is being developed in the coming months. Keep an eye on this blog for a first look at these new rooms when they are complete, and contact us directly to book them.

On behalf of my family I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Les and his team. Struggling to find a suitable venue for my Mums funeral wake my Brother and I went see Les at Dukes Folly, what a fabulous venue and staff. Les immediately sorted everything out for us and nothing was too much trouble. It was perfect on the day, the buffet food was amazing, good choices and catered for all needs, delicious!! What a fabulous place to host a smaller event, will definitely use this Hotel again and can highly recommend it. Thank you… Carole, Sue and Steve.

Called in for a light lunch today and was really impressed by the menu and the terrific staff. Couldn't fault either, the food was sensational and the people that work there made it a joy to sit in the conservatory and chill out for an hour. Can't wait to go back next week to try some new tapas plates. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We stopped for a few drinks and some food. Great value for money and good customer service. The Tapas were very nice, but the fish and chips special wasn't as crispy as we would have liked. Generally we had a good experience and we would be happy to return again and maybe stay overnight.

What a find. Lovely hotel. Rooms first class and and staff friendly and welcoming. We had breakfast and evening meal and both were really good, fresh and delicious. Spent some time relaxing in the bar and outside. Not the cheapest but definately the best.

We all stayed for one night after the Southport Festival. As we arrived early before check in time, the assistant kindly gave us our keys to our rooms and took all of our luggage to put it in our individual rooms once they were ready, so they were there for when we got back. The hotel was very clean, the rooms were clean and the bed was really comfy. Breakfast in the morning was a wide choice, but most of us went with the full English and we all loved it. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend it to anyone else
