The food is stunning, the views of the lakes are top tier and the staff were tentative and super friendly without being overbearing! Well worth a visit if you're in the area! Plus plenty of parking!!

Unfortunately we didn't enjoy our evening. it was our 25th Wedding Anniversary so after reading the reviews was looking forward to our night out. The food was OK.. it was the service..they really wasn't… interested in us only regulars. We were left asking for mint sauce to 3 members of staff. By the time it came my food was cold. The wait went on for desert which when we were asked the table hadn't been fully cleared after 10 mins. so we skipped deserts and went for coffee. Coffee never came. After another long wait we was told there was a new member of staff training.

Nice place lovely views, we all felt very cold,had to keep her coat and jackets on through the meal, no heating on this time of year unacceptable. Most of the food was good tasty, served well but not hot enough!!!! Overall it was expensive and can only give 3/4 stars.

I had the mussels starter and the liquor was amazing, had to order extra bread to mop it up. Lamb cutlets main were so tasty with a delicious char to the outside and succulent and juicy inside. Lovely service, relaxed atmosphere and a lovely family outing.

Today myself, my wife and our baby boy visited the lakes restaurant for lunch. To say we where disappointed is an understatement, we ordered 2 roast dinners and a pizza for our son. The restaurant was littered with flies all over our food and watching other guests dealing with the same issues was outrageous.
Our food came, I'd almost finished my meal when wife came across a hair in her food. We have dined at some of the best restaurants in the UK and abroad as a family but we've never come across flies in our food and drink. My wife couldn't continue to eat and immediately wanted to leave, after

This was our first and last visit unfortunately. We were really looking forward to a special night out but were left very disappointed. Whilst the food was good, we felt it was a bit overpriced . The biggest… issue was the service- or lack of! We were largely ignored, no attempt at any kind interaction whilst taking the order which resulted in the main course arriving incomplete- which seemed to confuse them initially which soon turned to general lethargy. A lot of noisy moving of tables and chairs to accommodate a very large group and large numbers of dead flies stuck to the blinds ! No

Went here with family tonight, place was absolutely packed so they took our orders before we made it to our main table and we enjoyed a drink first.
Despite how busy it was the food all came out quickly, at the same time and it was all red hot.
I had pizza and it was very high quality, excellent dough. Diavola could have used more Nduja though.
Great service throughout, except getting attention for a drink toward the end but I understand it was busy.

Disgusting! Nice place. Dirty high chair. Horrid afternoon tea. Sandwiches vile with a slab of butter and not what we ordered. Cakes even worse. Shop brought average scone with way way to much ice sugar on the top. If you like mayo sandwiches you'll love it.
When telling them the first responses we were laughed and then never asked anything else until we said it was horrible again and then there response was 'well you ate most of it, sorry its not your taste well yes £12.50 we tried everything sorry that 2 out of 4 sandwiches were gone the scone and half of each bite size cakes.

If you would like to have a great food, in a great themed restaurant next to the lake/ponds and be satisfied with every dish you found your place. Starters are amazing, medium sized, after which you will definitely feel a bit full on stomach. Pizza is baked in their own stone oven, quality and taste is amazing 🤩 size wise 15inch, burgers with double patty perfectly grilled, juices are just pouring, moist meat not dried, steak was also amazing 👍 12 oz it’s quite a lot but manageable without starter. Overall service is in high standard, staff is friendly and helpful. I really recommend for

First, I realised I left without leaving a much deserved tip to the waitresses (which most probably was to do with the rather disappointing phone text I had on my mind just before leaving) and do apologise for this 😳.
The staff were clean, smartly dressed, friendly and welcoming, giving attention and clearing the tables at the right times. It shows they have been trained well and the owner cares about the customer.
If you want a day out, go visit Gunby Hall - but EAT in The Lakes Restaurant!
The food is much better than we expected, home-cooked the traditional way, along with hand cut chips

Fantastic hospitality from the hole team,the outside decking area over looking the lake is beautiful,the food was exceptional.
