Lickpenny is located in the heart of the Derbyshire dales and stands within 16 acres of a truly picturesque setting. This tranquil retreat is set above the village of Tansley and near to the towns of Matlock and Bakewell. The park has an extensive range of facilities, and generous sized pitches. Although the pitches are large they now offer a number of extra large deluxe pitches, all of which have their own water, drainage and electric.
Being elevated they have fantastic far reaching views. The park is well placed to enable you to visit the many nearby attractions. Rallies are welcome by prior arrangement. For peace of mind security gates are fitted with a keypad entry system and CCTV cameras are installed. Lickpenny is open all year round, has hardstandings and heated utility blocks so that you can enjoy "out of season" touring.

First impressions of this site were good. Pitches were lovely, (although the hedges were too high for me, but that's just my personal taste). When I came to use the showers at about 7pm, whilst they were clean, I found the building well below an acceptable temperature. In fact it was just 11 degrees and the temperature of the water was not much higher. It was extremely unpleasant and I think I had the quickest shower ever!! I decided the following day to speak to the owners/wardens, not in an effort to complain but to inform them of the issues in case they were not aware. What a mistake that was

One of the best sites we've stayed at this year easily. The pitches are a great size and many of them are individually compartmentalised by hedges, trees and shrubs - giving a lovely feel of privacy if that's important to you. Not all views are the same because some pitches are so private that the trees/hedges obscure the actual view. If a view is important to you then I'd check with the staff at the site before booking (we did) so that you're not disappointed. Facilities are excellent, as good as we've experienced all year. Access to site is easy. Would definitely stay here again without question

Second time here in less than a month 🤔 it’s so lovely. Spacious pitches. Amazingly clean shower rooms. Shower cubicles are a great size too. We love Plot 53 as lovely view. Fish and chip van on a Friday and… Pizza van on Saturday only tried Pizza which is lovely. Lovely local walks. Ashover is a lovely walk and has 3 very nice pubs and a gift shop. Wardens are so helpful on site too. Matlock 10 mins away in car or taxi. Lovely area for children to play. Nice wooded walk area for dogs over the road private to campsite. We will be back next year

We have been visiting Lickpenny for a few years and started our touring adventures with them. We have taken advantage of the link weekends and got to know the owners and wardens. The site is immaculate and peaceful. There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas. It has been a very comforting place to be in the current climate. There is an option of a fully serviced pitch. All of the facilities are very clean and well maintained. They have a well stocked shop and a fish and chip van (Fri) or Pizza stall (Sat). All of the staff are very caring and if you are privileged to get a seasonal pitch, you

First visit, very nice. Lovely views over Matlock etc. Site well equipped. Bays very spacious and mostly separated with hedge giving privicy. Plenty water/waste stations around. Grounds staff emptied bins, cleaned round several times a day. Well kept and very clean. Reception staff very friendly. Didn't use shower facility on site so can't comment. Chip van on Fri evening, pizza on Sat. Dog walk through woodland just across the road & dog exercise area (for caravan customers only). Overall very enjoyable few days and will definitely be back.
