Oldmeldrum is an historic golf club: the game has been played here for over 125 years. However, its outlook is modern and, here, you will find all the facilities you would expect of a thriving, 21st century golfing venue. For golfers, there are few more breathtaking sights - in summer or winter - than the distant, majestic, eastern flank of Bennachie, as you send a drive straight towards it from Oldmeldrum's elevated 6th tee.
A par 70 course, Oldmeldrum Golf Club currently is just over 6,100 yards in length. It's fairways, greens, areas of rough and water hazards are a challenge for every level of golfer.

Outings packages are competitively priced, with prices ranging from 24 to 55, depending on the day of the week and, the number of rounds and catering needs. 1. Be aware of the behaviour of other golfers and their place on the course. Do not play a shot until you are sure there is minimum risk of your ball hitting any other person particularly if you are hitting towards an area hidden from your view. Always shout "FORE" if you hit a wayward shot. Many tees have sloping sides.
The Grenago Stane, or Groaning Stone, is located on the 14th fairway of the present day Oldmeldrum golf course. Legend has it that the Earl of Buchan lay beside the stone crying and groaning after his defeat by King Robert.
The stone long predates the battle of Barra, and according to the Reverend Angus H. Haddow B.Sc, in his work, "Dowsing for Patterns of the Past - The stone Circles of Aberdeenshire", the stone once formed part of a long lost stone circle. In modern times the stone still retains the power to make grown men "groan".
