Had a really nice stay here! Lass on reception found my booking no trouble on check-in. Explained about the vintage elevator and not to leave the doors open after getting out. I had a good night's sleep and checkout was painless. Place was clean and the shower was hot. The closest to a problem I had was when I was stood waiting for said vintage elevator and it was already there.

Cosy, central, historical. Top grade dining and friendly staff. The hotel may be old (very!), but it has all the character that comes with it. I never stayed there myself (the booking was for family), but I did go in there a while and experienced the place. Barring the possible noise from the street and the pub across the road, it seems like an excellent experience.

Great value for money. The room was very clean and adequately equipped. We had a lovely window view of the castle. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Special mention goes to the breakfast chef who prepared our veggie cooked breakfast this Sunday morning. It was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented!
