Services
Established in 1919 we have been caring for the people of Mid Sussex for over 100 years. We are rightly proud of this and were awarded the honour of being the longest established business by the Mid Susses District Council. Led by Masters level physiotherapists we are expert clinical practitioners with advanced knowledge gained from many years of experience and our reputation means that we are often the first port of call for many.
I am a fully qualified and professional integrative psychotherapist and counsellor based in Haywards Heath and Brighton. I offer counselling to adults, adolescents and groups, across all cultures and backgrounds. Whether you are looking for short-term or long-term therapy, it is fundamental to me that I provide a safe space for my clients to explore their deepest thoughts and feelings.
I graduated in 1986 from Bath Physiotherapy School and achieved my Masters in Manipulative Therapy in 2000 from University of Brighton. I worked for some year in the NHS before joining the Physio Therapy Centre in 1987 so I have been helping those in pain for many years, using my training and experience to treat all the myriad of different conditions that I see.
I trained at Southampton University graduating in 2001. I spent 6 years working in the NHS Outpatient departments alongside working privately at the University of Sussex Sports Injury Clinic. In 2007 I joined the Physio Therapy Centre.

I apply a comprehensive and holistic approach to diagnosis, injury management and rehabilitation by combining biomechanical analysis, manual and exercise therapy techniques with functional rehabilitation, electrotherapy, acupuncture and Pilates.I trained at the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) in 2005.
I joined the PHYSIO Therapy Centre in 2014 having enjoyed an association with them as a school nurse since 2001. I have been a qualified massage therapist (Swedish and Medical) since 2000, but a persistent episode of sciatica introduced me to the Bowen Fascial Release Technique and 'turned' my attention to the 'soft side'.

I was treated by Nigel for a should injury. After suffering for months with interrupted sleep and sharp pain, two weeks into Nigel's treatment plan saw a dramatic improvement and no significant pain. A few weeks later and I was pain free. Nigel was great, and the Zoom sessions and physiotherapy app were fantastic. Great result and I would thoroughly recommend Nigel.

I was treated by Nigel for an almost frozen shoulder and tennis elbow for several months. I am now pain free, albeit with homework exercises. Highly recommended. Safe, professional and highly effective.

Thank you to Paul Johnson for his care over a number of years, most recently treating my lower back after a prolapsed disc. I am always impressed by the time Paul takes to understand my issues in detail before treatment and the various exercises he gives me to take away. The Physio Therapy Centre itself is a wonderful spacious light filled building and a pleasure to visit.

I saw Paul for my first consultation today after a knee injury and left with a clear plan in place for recovery with a much better understanding of the injury. All my questions were answered clearly and thoroughly. A very professional yet friendly environment. Highly recommend!

I have been a patient, on and off, of the Physio-Therapy Centre for many years having suffered from knee; back, shoulder and neck problems seeing various physiotherapists. Most of my treatments to bring me back to full health have occurred following two to three visits to the Centre. I have nothing but the highest praise for the highly trained physiotherapists who not only treat but offer sensible easy to follow preventative advice to include male clinical pilates sessions which had a positive effect.

I have been visiting The Physio Therapy Centre Haywards Heath for some time with a Chronic MSK Condition. Their Physiotherapists are always very generous with their time and Paul Johnson in particular has been key to helping me manage my condition with thoughtful therapy, advice and support.
The support staff are also always very friendly and helpful.
Patients like me do not present as the usual ‘patient model’ (or model patient for that matter😉) but I am always offered excellent quality assured care and I would thoroughly recommend.

I took my daughter and her bothersome ankle to see Paul yesterday. He examined and observed her movement most expertly and we left armed with advice and reassurance. Our daughter is quite shy but Paul's patient manner put her at ease. We recommend the Physio Therapy Centre wholeheartedly. The reception staff are also very friendly and we won't hesitate to book future appointments if needed. Thank you.

I came to the Physio Therapy Centre following a fall and damaging my shoulder in a skiing accident. I had a really poor range of movement in my left arm to the point it was painful for me to do the things I love to do, especially swimming. I came and had 3 sessions with Paul who listened to what I had to say, gave me a diagnosis and came up with an effective treatment regime to help me regain a full range of movement in my arm again after 2 years of pain.
I really appreciate all the help I received from everyone at the physiotherapy centre and would highly recommend their care to anyone! Thank
