Keats Cottage is a boutique accommodation offering a home from home feel. Keats Cottage is located at the top of the Old Village in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, overlooking the theatre and within a 5 minute walk of the sea. The house was named after John Keats, an English Romantic poet who stayed at the then named Eglatine Cottage in the summer of 1819 and wrote some of his poems at this very property.

His poetry, as well as Blake's, Shelley's, Byron's and Tennyson's after whom further rooms are named, is readily available at Keats Cottage. Steeped in history and with parts of the building over 400 years old, Keats Cottage has been lovingly refurbished. All the rooms are en-suite and are equipped with modern amenities and you can experience crisp linen, fluffy towels, homemade biscuits and Nespresso coffee machines.
Services
A full cooked breakfast using local ingredients is included in your room rate. There is plenty of other cooked breakfast dishes to choose from and we are happy to cater for any dietary requirements with a prior notice. There is a Nespresso coffee machine in all the bedrooms as well as a welcome tray with home cooked biscuits.
The Isle of Wight is located just off the south coast of Southern England and is linked to the mainland ports of Lymington, Southampton and Portsmouth by vehicle ferries, high speed passenger catamarans and hovercraft. The island is served by three main operators. These are Hovertravel, Red Funnel and Wightlink.
The check in time is from 3pm until 6pm but should you wish to arrive earlier or later, please contact us and we will endeavor to meet your needs. The check out is between 8am and 11am. We are happy to offer 15% discount on ferries, please let us know which ferry you take and we will send you details.
Keats Kitchen which was inspired by the poet John Keats, is a unique place offering not only lovely homemade food but also a place to come and relax over coffee, read literature or just enjoy a glass of local wine with friends. As Keats was a keen traveller, we decided to take on board our knowledge of Polish and Swiss cuisines, in addition to more traditional fayre in our menus.

First time on the island and we stayed at Keats Cottage for a long weekend as they are one of the few that are dog friendly. David, the owner is an excellent host and made you feel welcome. When we arrived he had organised a dog bed and bowl of water in our room. Odin (our dog) got a sausage for breakfast every morning. Our room, on the top floor was spacious, a big double bed, en-suite, fluffy towels, TV, tea and coffee facilities with an Nespresso coffee machine and biscuits all stocked up daily. The holiday was over too quick and it was sad to leave as it really felt like a home from home. Highly

David and his mum were exceptionally good hosts throughout our stay. This morning they even got up to make breakfast at 6.15am. By the time we left we were sad to say bye to them. They are such lovely people. The breakfasts are delicious. You can tell David is a quality chef and the marmalade and jam his mum makes are so good we bought some to take home. We stayed in shelley room and it was lovely - homemade biscuits replenished daily, comfy bed, nice sofa and big room and bathroom. Last night when we were discussing going home we both said that you couldn't get a better B and B. Thank you to David

From the moment we arrived David was incredibly helpful helping with the luggage and guiding us where to park. We stayed in the Wilde suite/apartment with its own private garden. the moment we arrived David got us drinks and we sat in the garden with a beer - a first class welcome thank you! nothing was too much trouble from the beginning of our 7 day stay until the end. Breakfast was excellent. wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Food was fantastic and as much as you could ever want to eat provided by a cheerful host and his mother. They helped us plan our itinerary and suggested places you go. A fabulous weeks holiday. Would highly recommend visiting Keats cottage.

We were very fortunate to have bagged a late cancellation to stay at this outstanding B&B located in the delightful and picturesque village of Shanklin. We had heard of Keats Cottage through the Chanel 4 programme, 4 in a bed and were thus slightly prepared for our "blind date".
From our arrival David our host was impeccable with his helpfulness and service. He had even arranged our car parking for the duration of our stay and which covered all Island council car parks.
Our room was located on the second floor at the front of the building. Each room is named after an English Poet. Our room was
