We have seven beautiful self catering properties and three luxury yurts at The Garlic Farm sleeping between 2 and 10 people. They can also be booked in combination to accommodate larger groups. We offer: Free wifi, access to extensive farm land, tennis court, football pitch, games room, fishing facilities, onsite restuarant and discounted ferry crossings.
We had a marvellous holiday and everyone really enjoyed the Isle of Wight. The children have not stopped talking about it and were all so delighted at being able to go to the tennis court. A ridge of chalk downs extends across the centre of the Isle of Wight from east to west. Drive over the top of Mersley Down as you approach the village of Newchurch and you will see Mersley Farm nestling in its sheltered position 300 ft below. Surrounded by unspoilt scenery and 1/2 a mile from a main road, it is the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday, yet the nearest beach is no more than 10 minutes drive away.
The farm is a working farm growing garlic and asparagus. The Garlic Farm Shop located in the farm yard sells all our unique garlic products, plus a range of Island products. We have also recently opened a restaurant open for lunch every day serving a selection of delicious freshly prepared meals by the experienced Island chef, Charlie.
This beautiful farmhouse was built in 1672. It is a fine and little altered unique example of an Island yeoman farmer's house standing alone in its own grounds. Following a sensitive renovation, it is now available as our largest most well appointed cottage. Spacious downstairs master bedroom with en suite toilet and shower.
Kiln Cottage is part of Little Mersley Barn built in 1802, facing the Downs and completed in 2007, is our most spacious and luxury property. Very large open-plan kitchen, dining room and living room with well equipped kitchen and tasteful mixture of modern and traditional furnishings. Bathroom/utility room with shower and toilet.
We have 3 beautiful yurts hidden in a private field behind the Garlic Farm. The yurts were handmade on the Isle of Wight. They are 6 metres in diametre and have a kingsize bed on the ground floor and a ladder leading to a mezzanine deck with two full size single mattresses. They have fully equipped kitchens with small oven and hobs, sink with hot and cold water and under counter fridge with small freezer compartment.
