Peter Pan Playschool

We are based in the Eastwick Road Church hall. The hall is spacious, bright and airy and provides plenty of room for the children to take part in a wide range of activities such as painting, playdough, reading in the quiet area, creating at the craft table, dressing up in the role-play corner and playing with the numerous toys, games and other imaginative activities which have been laid out.

All major decision-making is in the hands of the volunteer parent representatives who are elected onto the Friends of Peter Pan committee each year; we work closely with our fantastic Manager Louise Sutherland and Curriculum Manager Valerie Botting in order to ensure that they have the high-quality staff and resources they need to ensure that playschool can continue to go from strength to strength and to ensure that all the children in our care are safe and well cared for.

Parents speak very highly about the pre-school and the attention that the staff provide to their children. They say that their children's social skills and understanding of right from wrong have increased since coming to the setting. Parents feel very involved in their children's learning and staff keep them well informed about their progress.

I like the calm, safe environment/atmosphere which helps my child to feel secure and confident. The staff are fantastic - their extensive experience of working with children (and having their own) and their thoughtful and caring manner has made settling my daughter a painless experience. My daughter always comes away happy from playschool and regularly talks about what she has done and who she has played with.

Parent Rota - please sign up! Our last two Ofsted reports have highlighted the strong parent involvement at Peter Pan which supports us to deliver a highly effective partnership approach to children's care and learning; the parent rota is a big part of this.

Many thanks to those parents who have already signed up to help at playschool this half term; to those who haven't yet, please look out for the new parent rota sign-up sheet on the main noticeboard (to the right of the double doors into the hall from the foyer).Although we do understand that people are busy juggling children, work and numerous other responsibilities, it is hoped that all parents will help at least once each half term.
