Longford Pre-School Playgroup opened in 1974. It is a small homely setting with fully qualified staff with a wide range of experience, with two members of staff who hold Early Years Degrees. It is situated in the centre of Newport town in Shropshire. We are a non profit making, voluntary sector group, run by a committee.
We are a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and also Telford & Wrekin Early Years Team. We believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support to fulfil their potential. Our Playgroup provides a safe, secure and stimulating environment for all children. At Longford appointments are not always needed, please feel free to come and look around to see what we offer you will be most welcome.

My daughter went to Longford from the age of 2 yrs until she went to school. As an only child she thrived on the opportunity to play with other children her age, make friendships and learn how to negotiate. The attention she received from the staff benefitted her greatly and gave her a passion for education.
Now I am lucky enough to work at Longford and I love my job. Every day is different and seeing how the children progress is extremely rewarding. It truly is a privilege working with the children and their families.
