Jolly Drayman
Get on down to Gravesend's best boozer on the late August Bank Holiday weekend to sample over 25 beers and ciders, a gin and vodka bar and the best in live music. Sunday Night - The lads from Hog Roast will be bringing their incomparable show to the JD. Monday Afternoon - Guitar legend Geoff Whitehorn and his Strydes will be closing off the weekend with their classic rock show.

With enough notice our chef will create a bespoke menu just for you for that special occasion if private dining is required. With full internet access and projector and screen the Jolly Drayman private hire room will meet all of your needs.
Services
All of our guests get the benefit of free wi-fi throughout the building for the duration of their stay. Great central location in the heart of Gravesend with great access to transport and the train station. We offer very affordable rates on our rooms. We also offer discounts for long term board for those needing to stay in the area for a period of time.
The Jolly Drayman is getting quite a name for itself as a live music venue. On the first Saturday of every month a live act can be seen performing either in the garden or in the pub. We play host to a variety of acts and a great afternoon/evening is had by all. Keep up to date on who is playing via Facebook and this webpage.
Why not come and play darts at or for the Jolly Drayman? We have men's and women's teams playing on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the year. The Jolly Drayman is proud to be (we think) the last pub in the whole of the United Kingdom to actively play the ancient game of Daddlums.

Daddlums is a form of bar skittles whereby a "cheese" (a disc of wood) is thrown down a wooden table and the aim of the game is to knock over the 9 skittles.A player has three cheeses to throw. A Meat Raffle is held every Sunday and is drawn at around 15:00 hours. The meat is purchased from Longfield Butchers and is some of the best meat around.
The Jolly Drayman is a proud real ale pub and caters for the real ale beginner right up to the true connoisseur. We sit proudly in the CAMRA Good Pub Guide and have been well known in the past for our fantastic Real Ale Festivals. There will be over 12 real ales and ciders to choose from and live music on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

My 'Local' This is a real old school pub, mind your head, with super friendly service and locals. They have music festivals at different times of the year also. It's small but amazing.
I recently stayed in a room in the hotel part for 17 days and it was super comfortable and a nice size being a King-size bed room. I had a fridge and microwave which was very convenient. I love it here!

Betty Stoggs (Skinners-Truro) , ProperJob and Dark Star Hophead are regular ales with 1or 2 guests, sometimes as 18/8/21 a local Iron Pier brewery ale. Reasonably priced at about 3.60 with a small 10p discount to Camera members. The pub has an enclosed seating area outside and feels comfortable and welcoming within - unless you bash your head on one of the lower beams! Food is available...check for menu/ timings. Beer festivals are held incl. August bank holiday. The staff are friendly and cheerful and there is an attached hotel and some parking. One of Gravesend's finest.

May be great for those drinking there but if your a local resident the place is a nightmare ! Total disregard for sound levels ! Needs shutting down so we can get some peace and quiet

Had our grandchildren’s christening party at the Jolly Drayman last Sunday. Staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable day. The buffet was perfect, and plentiful. The bar staff professional and helpful (and run of their feet given the Covid restrictions of table service!) Would definitely book this venue again for any up coming celebration.
