I have always wanted to work with animals having grown up surrounded by pets and working as a dog sitter and walker during my time at school. Following my passion for animals I completed my A Levels and went to university to study Zoology. During my time at university I studied modules such as Animal Behaviour and Welfare, Anatomy and Physiology, and Conservation.
Since graduating in 2017 I have worked in animal care spending a year working at a college supervising students studying Animal Care and looking after a variety of animals including exotic animals, livestock and mammals. I started at Hydegate in 2018 as an Animal Care Supervisor and have worked my way up.

Situated in a gorgeous rural location, Hydegate is a remarkable pet resort. Our facilities and services are in a class of their own and every pet is treated as a VIP. No request is ever too much trouble. Exceptional quality and care have been our hallmark since we opened in 1987, with everything we do centred on your pets.
Purpose designed, our super clean and comfortable apartments are worlds away from traditional kennels. Glass fronts, uPVC walls, and acoustic ceilings give dogs a quieter environment, an unobstructed outlook and a familiar home-like feel. Climate control at a constant 19 degrees year round, combined with soft and hygienic veterinary bedding and right size beds keep dogs very cosy, and anti-slip flooring gives them complete security underfoot.
Our luxurious cattery was purpose-designed and constructed in consultation with a leading feline behaviourist and the RSPCA. Kept at a constant 19 degrees for optimum comfort, the indoor bedrooms contain clean, cosy beds and have their own secure outside run with countryside views, which can be freely accessed all day.
Professional dog grooming for resident and non-resident dogs is available on-site with our fully trained groomers, Hannah and Sophie. We provide extensive grooming services for all breeds of dogs - whether they are staying with us or not. Our experienced groomers will make sure that your dog is not only expertly groomed but also thoroughly enjoys the experience.
All dogs and cats must be fully vaccinated before their stay. For puppies or out of date boosters, this includes both lots of vaccinations. All initial vaccinations or restarted courses must be completed at least 10 days before your pet's stay. Dogs must be up to date with distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza and leptospirosis vaccinations (covered in the normal annual boosters).

My 18th month old dog Billy stayed at Hydegate for 14 days during December whilst we were on holiday. We were dreading leaving him because it would have been the longest Billy had been away from us and we were really worried about how he (he has separation anxiety) and also we would cope! We visited a few other places and discussed other options but when we came to take a look at Hydegate and have a tour we were instantly put at ease by how friendly all the staff were, how clean all the rooms were and how beautiful the grounds are. Fantastic experience, my tiny Pomeranian was as happy as can be when I picked him up, and due to the outbreak of the pandemic last year and my being stranded abroad, he remained at Hydegate for a full month. He was jolly, in beautiful condition and had made lots of new friends when I collected him. Hydegate is the only place I would leave my dogs without any concern for doing so, lovely place!

Highly recommend Hydegate Pet Resort LTD. After being let down last minute by a local home boarder Hydegate Pet Resort was recommended to us. We have 2 rescue pups, one which is very nervous around new people. The staff were amazing with her and after a few hours our nervous pup was sitting on the staff's laps for cuddles. We have booked in for our pups to stay again. The whole place is immaculately clean and all dogs looked happy. Both our pups loved their stay and I am sure they will be thrilled to go back. cannot thank the staff enough.

We took our 2 dogs there for a 1 night stay in the premium kennel. We were surprised that there was no free access from the inside kennel to a private run outside for the dogs to relieve themselves. Hydegate describes themselves as a luxury boarding facility. This was definitely not the case from what we saw. We have been to a few luxury kennels previously so we have some comparison. Sadly this one wasn't. We had travelled a long distance and were concerned that our dogs wouldn't have anywhere to toilet etc. They would have 1 walk in the paddock before bed. Knowing that dogs are predominantly clean

I’m always anxious about putting my dog into kennels which I don’t do very often, so I wanted the best of the best while I was away this year and I think I’ve found it. It’s calm,clean, quiet and doesn’t have that usual kennel smell. All of the dogs we saw were happy and being made a fuss of. Staff were all friendly and made a fuss of my dog on arrival and collection and when i called from abroad to check on her, the lady i spoke to was very reassuring and said how lovely my dog was. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you!

I've been using hydegate for our border collie for over a year now and he's stayed there quite a bit. On the second visit it was clear he loved it there and everyone who works there as he drags me up the path to the front door and doesn't look back when he's left. The staff are so friendly and helpful. It's such a well looked after compound and looks so secure.
It's really reassuring to leave a beloved pet there. Would highly recommend :)

Our very nervous rescue dog goes to Hydegate and stays in Meadow View. I was very worried about leaving her in kennels until we visited - the whole site is calm and the kennels are immaculate. The whole team have been amazing and have made some great progress with our dog - particularly Rose who is extremely patient and has earned our dogs trust with lots of hard work. Bonus benefits include great air conditioning during the hot summer period, extremely quiet kennels and very large bed spaces for the dogs 🐕 Its also clear that safety is a top priority with locking doors/gates etc - as well as

We have recently started using Hydegate for our two dogs when we're away for weekends. We live in Dursley so it's easy for me to walk across the fields in the morning and a beautiful location. I was very impressed with their set up and the friendliness and care of the staff. The flexibility of drop off and pick up times makes our life a lot easier, the kennels are a very good size and very clean and modern. Our two doggies have been upgraded to the 'suite' a couple of times so have ended up with a double bed complete with memory foam mattress and a TV! The most important thing for me is that when

I've been using Hydegate for at least 12 years now and I really wouldn't leave my dogs with anyone else. I trust them completely and whilst I've had a couple of dogs during this time they are always my go to venue for my dog's holiday. I've recently moved to Dorset but have yet to find somewhere that's meets their service and quality of care and as such I drive from Dorset to Bristol to leave my dog with them before I go on holiday.
