This was our 40th wedding anniversary celebration which they were aware of as I had booked the restaurant on the actual day. We had our dog with us and had booked a ‘superb’ room at extra cost. According to their website these rooms ‘overlook either the lake or extensive countryside ‘ unquote and the two dog friendly rooms are stated as on the ground floor with direct access to the garden, ours was on the first floor overlooking the bins and we were treated each night to the empties crashing into them. No explanation or apology offered. And despite several other couples arriving with dogs

Just had my daughters wedding here this weekend. Cannot recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived the staff have been so attentive to all of the wedding party. Everything was perfect, no issues with anything, beautiful location, lovely rooms, food delicious . Can definitely recommend as a wedding venue. We're going back as a couple for a weekend break soon to enjoy the lake district more.
