In 1990 Robert Kean, a qualified landscape architect, decided to leave full-time employment to start his own landscaping design and construction company which would quickly become Hedgehogs Nursery. Alongside this new venture, Robert wanted a wholesale plant nursery. A place to grow his own plants and trees to supply his landscape business.
The back garden was requisitioned for the task, and very quickly filled with tunnels and plants grown from seeds and cuttings. Hedgehogs Nursery Garden Centre in Fife was born.
