Situated on Romney Marsh and not far from the local town of New Romney. Surrounded by the marshes and opposite the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, The Star Inn offers a traditional pub setting with a modern menu and well kept selection of real ales. Tucked away in the heart of the countryside, The Star Inn is the perfect place for lunch or dinner.
The Star Inn dates back to the early 18th Century, and with that becomes a wealth of history, the building itself dates back to the late 15th century as a thatched farm dwelling. Our kitchen serves lunch Tuesday to Saturday 12-3pm and dinner Tuesday to Saturday 6-8.30pm. And on Sunday's 12 - 3pm The Star prides itself on cooking modern homemade food using fresh, locally sourced produced wherever possible.

Services
The Star Inn has undergone a number of recent changes to help to ensure that the pub can continue to provide both old and new regulars and visitors with a traditional country pub experience, offering a variety of selected real ales, beers and wines complemented with a high quality, home-cooked menu which we aim to change on a regular basis.
Situated directly opposite The Church of St. Mary the Virgin, The Star Inn offers the opportunity for private hire events. With a range of options available, The Star is happy to cater for any occasion. We are happy to hold events in the bar, restaurant or out in the paddock depending on the size and style.

Our fantastic Christmas Dinner today at the Star Inn St Mary on the Marsh. Our starters were delicious prawn and crayfish salad and duck/orange pate the warm rolls were a great addition for the pate. The main roast turkey with all the trimmings was cooked to perfection, so nice and tasty and hot too. By now we were feeling rather full for the afters Christmas pud with custard for one and ice cream the other you could of rolled us out of there as so full no room for a coffee at all.
A big thank you to all at the Star especially Teresa and Dave for laying on a good spread and making our Christmas

Not a great time, as it was a wake for my father in law, but emotions aside what a great place. Bar service was exceptional, friendly and very welcoming, the drinks cold, not expensive and forthcoming. The food provided whilst not menu food was hot, delicious and plentiful. We really couldn't have asked for any more, but we got peace, quiet, some beautiful views on top. I have not given 5 stars before, this place is well worth going out of your way to visit.
