NHS England have advised us that all patients are to be telephone triaged therefore no patient will be offered a face to face appointment by reception staff. If you have a temperature, fever or cough please return home and self-isolate for seven days. Purposely not revealing symptoms or contact is a criminal offence and can lead to prosecution.

Our practice is collaborating with NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) which is providing NHS numbers for those patients that may be suitable for electronic repeat dispensing prescriptions. The information is obtained from NHS prescriptions submitted to the NHSBSA. A member of our team will contact these patients soon to explain the benefits of this service.
Services
Our practice is a training/teaching practice. Our registrars are fully qualified and have a great deal of hospital experience. They are attached to our practice for up to 18 months to gain experience in becoming general practitioners. They are at all times encouraged to seek advice when required from the practice partners.
If you are confronted by a serious problem such as severe chest pain or severe bleeding call an ambulance (Tel: 999) before calling the surgery. When the surgery is closed please ring 111. The doctors provide an emergency service through PELC. This service is based at King George Hospital and is for patients who need to be seen during the hours when the practice is closed.
The 6 week checks are booked with the doctor. The baby clinics are run for child developmental checks and allow an opportunity to discuss other problems, eg sleeping, feeding and child health worries. Immunisation is a way of protecting your child against serious diseases. Once they have been immunised, their bodies are better able to fight these diseases if they come into contact with them.
The Accessible Information Standard says that people who have a disability, hearing or visual loss should get information in a way they can access and understand. If you have a disability, hearing or visual loss and need us to communicate with you in a particular way, please let any of the team know.
Routine consultations/queries can be booked via our e-consult service (please note this service is not available at weekends or bank holidays). Once received, a patient services coordinator will direct the request to the most appropriate person in our team. This may be a GP, Pharmacist, Nurse, Physiotherapist, or a member of the admin team.

I have been with Newbury Health centre for 35 and seen many changes with the practice . The staff do a very difficult job managing the level of calls and patients in what are unprecedented times.
The office staff do the best they can with the resources available, they have to manage patients expectations who are unwell and are abused constantly, just a reminder that they have mental health and don’t deserve to be abused and threatened at work.
I have personally had times when I can’t get through but Econsult is working very well for me (maybe harder for patients without ITSkills etc). I can

1.7 Stars Review Says it all. I am not a complaining person rather stay quite but it has come to a point now... Every single visit, experience is worst then the previous one. Looks like 2 answers have been tape recorded at the reception "No Sir We Can't Do It" or "No sir You can't Do it"
Only reason I am not switching this pathetic surgery is Dr. K Bhatt. (Great Great Doctor) Otherwise "PATHETIC" is the word.
Dear Surgery, you are the reason of my high blood pressure. and thanks for that keep it up

I am a primary caregiver to an individual who is a brain injury survivor and who was a registered patient at this surgery. They had to undergo years of poor healthcare due to the incompetence of this surgery. Receptionists tell conflicting instructions, telling me one thing one moment, only to tell me something else later on. Records are consistently wrong – the surgery repeatedly gave incorrect prescriptions to the local pharmacy and never seemed to have the correct information, often getting dosages wrong or even missing out medication. The patient sees several neuropsychiatrists who attempt

Such a great staff and doctor. The wait times are relatively short (usually 10 minutes maximum). The doctor and staff practitioner are so understanding. We’ve never had an issue with either of them. Office staff is great too – Best family doctor ever , Takes time to explain things, resolve problems. HIGHLY Grateful for his experience & wide range of knowledge. staff and the medical assistant were very nice and helpful ,very friendly and professional!

Really very unresponsive to phone calls. Staff is not competent. And to whoever that is making snobby replies to patient reviews, no one cares about your complaint service. People use google in 2021, duh. Listen to your patients and try to better the quality of your service.

Nobody in this practice can explain, how their ‘emergency appointments’ work. I called at 8am , 8.O4 i was ,caller number 2 in the que’. By 8.40am i got disconnected. I just wonder , it takes 36min to book one person for appointment? When i went to the practice and ask how many emergency appointments they got available they couldnt tell me.

Telephone Today 20 09 2021 COMPLAINT
To the Practice Manager
Hi
I am raising an official complaint which will be attached along with the previous emails to be lodged with the relevant authority at your telephony/staff's as well as managerial incompetence (and nothing to do with actual medical staff)
I commenced the call at 16:00, was at progressed from number 9 to 1 following which more boring music ensued. The phone was picked up and promptly cut off. As your calls are recorded, I would like you to investigate the matter

Very rude receptionists, especially the blonde one with short hair. Additionally the don’t pick up the phone and their e-consult system is a nightmare, even after booking the appointment online they don’t give any appointments at all.
Response to the GP: My whole family was registered to this GP (5 family members) and we all experienced the same problem. The receptionists are very arrogant and they do not do anything practical to solve any issues. I hope all the reviews given by my family are being useful in changing the administration of this GP and actually look after the patients as they

It takes ages for the reception staff to receive the phone calls. And when they do, they are so ridiculously rude, insensitive and least receptive. I am a doctor myself and I know how things work and how they should be. But one of the staff attending the phone calls are so dictating and annoying. Patients or care givers are already in trouble, suffering and a bit depressed but there's no empathy towards them. They don't know manners. They should either be trained to talk to patients or should leave this job. Such inappropriate behaviours are just unbearable.

Old and outdated Surgery, very unclean surgery. When I use to be patient here had the worst doctors ever. Recently came with my dad seems like nothing changed, apart from a TV that's blasting out how a cervical screening is done.
No parking available unless, blue Badge holders can park at front or park in B&Q on Let st.
Theirs a pharmacy opposite the Surgery. Surroundings roads get busy during peak times.
