Under the ownership of Peter & Assumpta Golding we welome customers old and new to the Kitchen. Choose a seat by the beautiful bay window and watch for riders trotting by on horseback or perhaps the occasional herd of cows strolling down from the Common. We serve delicious breakfasts, morning and afternoon teas, and lunches.
All of our food is prepared fresh daily, and we are fortunate to work with wonderful local suppliers so our food is always seasonal, locally sourced and of the finest possible quality. Even if you just pop in for one of our excellent coffees and a read of the paper, you'll probably be tempted by our amazing variety of mouth-watering cakes.

We were driving from Somerset to Stratford upon Avon and were looking for somewhere for breakfast - we saw the reviews so made a detour to The Kitchen. What a lovely spot! It was busy with people coming and going, so friendly - the host was amazing, she knew all the regulars by name, but she treated our family group like we were local. It was just a lovely experience. The food was AMAZING! Delicious, hot, tasty and quick. All in all I wish I lived closer as it would be my go to cafe!

Wow! What a lovely, lively tea room. The service is great - very sincere and charismatic, the lady with the Irish accent buzzes around at 100mph (and talks equally as quickly) but is welcoming, charming and comes across as a very kind hearted lady. The tables are nicely distanced and the location is clean and tidy. We had the afternoon tea and cannot recommend it enough, but the lunch menu and sandwiches looked equally as good. Genuinely a worthwhile detour if you're anywhere near this area.
