Cafe 53 is a popular, licensed garden cafe serving freshly prepared breakfasts, lunches, homemade cakes and the finest coffee around, seven days a week. Born in 2005, Cafe 53 began its life as a small 20 seat cafe, tucked behind its sister business - Domestic Science. After becoming a popular haunt for dealers, tourists, customers and everyone in between, we were granted planning permission in 2013 to expand with a 40 seat garden room extension.
A hidden gem, our subtle doorway entrance on Long Street, leads to a light and airy dining area over looking our Mediterranean style water garden, with additional seating outside. Accompany your lunch with a glass of wine or beer, a local fruit juice, smoothie, or a cup of our delicious coffee, while of course leaving room for a slice of our home made cake selection.

We used to come here fairly regularly on weekend bike rides but after a hiatus we were shocked to see a notice on the back gate today with a large crossed through "no cycling" sign and a note to say bicycles are not welcome, neither in the garden or in the carparking spaces. I do understand that it is a small courtyard garden but hardly think that in December this would be teeming with people sat outside. As we were reeling from the discriminatory notice a couple of other cyclists turned up and were also suitably appalled at the notice. I was hoping to also purchase a birthday gift and card as

Gorgeous food and excellent service.
We had the most wonderful breakfast at this cafe, and sat in the garden next to the water feature. The food was 5* and extremely fast, whilst the staff went above and beyond to make us feel very welcome and appreciated. The cafe is very quaint and quirky, and they have clearly worked very hard go make the cafe Covid safe. Will be back very soon!

Pancakes and gingerbread lattes!!
I can’t say I’m overly familiar with restaurants in Tetbury, but this was a goldmine.
Such a cosy café, perfect for a rainy Sunday; which was when we stopped in. And despite us arriving not long past the 12pm deadline, they were more than accommodating for our request for pancakes, which was very much appreciated and even more delicious. They were cooked perfectly and the gingerbread lattes were the perfect blend of sweet and spicy without either being overpowering.
If I’m ever passing through Tetbury again and need a quick breakfast, this is where I’ll
