Good nights sleep. More modern building situated in a country setting on the outskirts of Thirsk close to Sutton Bank. Our room was compact and clean with en suite facilities and for the price which included a substantial breakfast was very good value for money. Evening meals are served until 9.00pm but we ate before we arrived so can't comment on late meals but if the breakfast is anything to go by there shouldn't be any issues.

For us the location was perfect as we were attending a function at the Carpenters Arms at Felixkirk. Others might not like the fact it is in the middle of nowhere. Locally the hotel is known as Fawlty Towers - I’ll leave you to decide if you want to visit. We paid £130 for one night room only - it was Expensive for what it was.

I booked a room for the night of my brother's wedding at the OYO White Horse via booking.com, at a cost of around £40. Six days before the wedding, I had a message from the hotel advising that they had overbooked the hotel that night and therefore my reservation was cancelled. There was no other available accomodation in the area. Accomodation further out (York and Harrogate) was approximately £200 a night by that point. Stressed, of pocket and spoilt watch should have been a happy occasion.

Intentive and freindly staff that are happy to help. We had burger and chips for dinner and lets just say that fresh food is always better than frozen, even the bun was defrosted. Maybe fresh bread would have made a difference!!! The full breakfast was lovely and the staff did a great job in the kitchen. The shower was tiny but pretty good. As for the toilet, well very little room to pee never mind sit down. We stayed for 2 nights and our overall experience was good. I was centainly consider staying here again in the future.

It was inexpensive. Staff are lovely. Due to the current restrictions none of the public areas were open which meant the hotel lacked atmosphere. The walls are paper-thin so ear plugs are advisable. The location is good for accessing Thirsk, the Moors and the coast but a car is essential. It lacked some of the polish you might expect from a bigger chain.
