Located on the site of a family-owned fresh produce nursery, Smallford Farm Shop has stemmed from traditional market style methods of selling produce to local customers from pallets. The foundations of Smallford Farm Shop and cafe have been built from the history of the site, offering fresh produce to the public but in a modern way, alongside a diverse range of products.
We believe in celebrating good quality, small artisan producers, which is why our product offering has been carefully selected. We aim to increase the accessibility and profile of these products across Hertfordshire. Perfect destination for a catch up over a coffee and cake, a glass of wine and a freshly made salad, or a scone with a pot of tea.

At Smallford Farm Shop we work with a unique selection of brands and products made by passionate producers. Local where possible but always best in class. The Smallford Farm Shop is situated on the site of Glinwell's Smallford nursery that was purchased in 1977 and continues to thrive.

Shop had some fabulous foodie and gift products- but we later saw many of these same products priced for less at Nottcutts Garden Centre, just a few hundred yards down the road. Had booked for lunch at… Smallford's Italian Cafe, but service was extremely slow from the moment we started to wait at the reception point to be shown to our table. Then we were given menus to make our meal choices while queueing for table - not a practice I've ever seen before. Staff were pleasant and helpful, but when our food arrived the meat was undercooked - to the point of it didn't feel safe to eat it. We

Staffs were excellent but was not too sure if the shop was meant for farm produce enriched with home made goodness. It appeared more like a mishmash of confectioneries. But the mini cafe was perfect. There was no hand soap in the toilet nor sanitizer in the shop. But overall it was a good experience.

Went for the farm shop which isn't really very good if you're looking for local products. Some nice things though. Most specialty products from around the country. The cafe was bog standard though.
Thank you for your reply!! I appreciate the comments. In hindsight I can only say that in store signage will help greatly to identify what's local and not. We will definitely come back to visit!! Thanks

I have only been to the farm shop before but today my friend and I had lunch at the Little Italian Restaurant there. I was looking for somewhere with good food that would have easy access as my friend has difficulty walking and has very poor sight (she is registered blind). I tell you that because many times when I take her out it is apparent that staff find her an inconvenience due to her 'walker' and tight spaces. This place having been purpose built, with lots of space and easy access, made things as easy as it could ever be so no problem there. The staff at the Little Italian could not have

Lovely farm shop selling organic produce, locally sourced food and gifts. The cafe does great coffee and cakes, although can be a bit hit and miss depending on what they have on offer. Had a beautiful raspberry cream cake once. Staff, although plentiful, could do with a bit more training in customer service. When asked if our food was ok, and my friend advised it was very salty, the reply was "well I didn't make it!". No but you asked!
