We have a traditional butcher's department and we specialise in high quality, naturally reared meat and poultry sourced from named local farms. All our meat is cut and prepared on the premises and can be presented in accordance to your individual needs.

Services
At Old Spot Farm, we take extra special care in selecting the very best meat for you both in terms of the product but just as importantly, its provenance. We believe the quality of an animal's life has a direct effect on the quality of the meat they give us. We only select meat from locally sourced reputable suppliers where we know they do things right.
The traditional breed of the Hampshire/Duroc cross that we supply to our customers, was specifically chosen because it is known to have superior flavour. This flavour comes from being a naturally slow growing breed. All of the pork is selected to a specific scope ensuring prime fat coverage.
The pigs are reared out doors on the Sussex downs and are fed a specially designed cereal diet, they are taken to a local slaughter house to minimise transport stress for the animal before being brought to our skilled butchers.

All our poultry cuts and whole birds are sourced from local farms that slaughter on site which minimises transportation stress to virtually zero, this ensures that the meat is tender and succulent. We have weekly deliveries fresh from the farm meaning that we can supply our customers with as fresher produce as possible.
We source all of our lamb from a local reputable supplier with over 100 years in the meat industry. Our lambs are selected by our butchers to a specific size and weight. This is to ensure that our customers are never disappointed by the size of the cuts that they receive. Our highly skilled butchers hang the lamb in the cold stores to allow the meat to age.
Prime select cuts such as, shoulder, belly and leg are used when we make our ever popular sausages. We use the same pork in our sausages as we sell through the shop so we can guarantee the quality and flavour. All of our sausages are made and prepared on site using the finest quality ingredients. Our butchers produce small batches of sausages so that we can use the freshest of ingredients.

Did a good shop they as had stopped by navy years before and remembered quality from before. Only on this occasion. The pork sausages were totally sour, the bacon when grilled had a large amount of gelatinous fat that completely ruined the taste. The Cumberland sausages were bland. I may have gone in on a bad day for them. I had an cooler in the car so was able to keep everything cold for the 40 minutes drive to my home.
Needless to say very disappointed with the quality at premium prices. I wouldn't shop there again
