Ballymena Nursery School is a preschool setting in the centre of Ballymena, providing preschool education for 104 children per year. Each year we have 4 part-time classes, with 2 adults and 26 children in each class. Since being established in 1967, approximately 4000 pre-school children have enjoyed the benefits of pre-school education in Ballymena Nursery School.
The Nursery was built on the grounds of the Adair Family estate in 1967, where the Adair Castle originally stood. While there have been many changes to the Nursery, we keep our historical castle theme in mind during our play. Please have a look at our online galleries to see around our Nursery, or feel free to contact us to make an appointment to look around.

Services
The staff make effective use of the regular observations of the children to inform the future planning and to tailor the learning experiences. Ballymena Nursery School, in partnership with parents and with collaboration of outside agencies, adopts a multi-disciplinary approach to the holistic development of the young children entrusted into our care.
Your child is busy learning, approaching the world with curiosity and seeking a sense of belonging. Our classes encourages the children to build a community in an environment that supports learning together and caring for each other. The toddlers eat snacks at tables together and enjoy an open concept playroom with free play and weekly activities that promote exploration and learning.
Within all areas of the curriculum, ICT will be used in appropriate, innovative and imaginative ways to maximise learning opportunities, however staff will use their professional judgement and follow the guidelines of our ICT policy to ensure there is not an over reliance or abuse of the use of ICT within Nursery.
Established relationships with parents means we can share information positively and effectively to support children as much as possible. Open communication between parents and staff is strongly encouraged. Teachers are encouraged to learn what is important to you as a parent and to use that information when programming for the group.
Keep up the good work! My daughter has enjoyed her time at the nursery very much and we're both a little sad that the time has almost come to an end. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the nursery to any family or friends. My child has thoroughly enjoyed his time at Ballymena Nursery and looks forward to going each and every day.

My Daughter Lily-Rose attended this nursery when she was 3 & she loved it. Staff are so friendly & they are willing to answer any querries or concerns.
The enviroment is relaxed and pleasant. Staff really invest in the children who attend here.
All children are equal and encouraged to do their best.
The drive to & from Antrim every day was defy worth it.
