Services
Our Nursery Room at Scallywags is well equipped and provides a safe and stimulating environment for our under 2's. Our qualified, experienced and dedicated team of Nursery Room practitioners help each child develop and learn by encouraging their play and demonstrating new ideas and activities. There is a separate sleep room for day time naps and a separate changing room to ensure the children get the best care possible.
The Toddlers' Room is all about having fun whilst learning. The children are encouraged to make choices about their day and there is a huge range of activities from which they can choose. The children also learn to help tidy away once they have finished playing. In addition, adult-led activities take place each day with our qualified childcare practitioners.
You won't find many outside play areas like at Scallywags! Our outdoor area is every bit as safe and inviting as our indoor areas. Children learn through their senses, so it is important that our practitioners promote sensory learning opportunities to the children, both indoors and outdoors. Our Sensory Caravan offers a relaxing yet stimulating environment.
The Pre-School Bees and Bears are based in two light and airy rooms. As with other rooms at Scallywags, there is a high ratio of childcare practitioners to children, enabling each child to develop at their own pace and to help prepare them for the transition to 'big' school. The rooms are set out in defined areas where the children can learn through play.
Scallywags Childcare Centre is a purpose built building based on the grounds of a gated school campus. It provides a secure and safe environment for both children and staff. Each access door is controlled by intercom. This enables staff in each room to approve entry to parents or guardians after they have been recognised via the intercom camera.

Scallywags have been brilliant. It has been a delight to see how I has developed and changed during her time with Scallywags. Finding the right childcare is a very difficult thing however Scallywags have been both kind and professional throughout I's time with them. She settled very quickly and within a very short time was happy to see her staff and happy to be handed over. As a mother this is the best outcome you can ask for.

Both my children have attended Scallywags from 8 months old. They are now 7 and 4. They have played a huge role in the way my children have been brought up. Installing confidence, manners, being sociable, caring and learning new things. The school they attend said they can always tell when a child has attended Scallywags. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. It’s a lovely bright setting and many staff have been there from when my daughter attended over 7 years ago. My Son has cerebral palsy and the staff have been fantastic with him. I’ve felt so lucky finding such a great nursery

Both of our children have attended (one currently still attending) Scallywags. We can’t speak highly enough of the service we have experienced from every member of staff there. The admin staff are always really helpful, and the staff working with the children have always been really kind, warm and accommodating. I would 100% recommend Scallywags!
