We first opened our doors to the public in 1983 as a small nursery supplying plants from a single greenhouse. In the last 40 years, the business has grown into a well known multi-department site with a two storey licensed restaurant. The centre has an excellent reputation for the quality of its plants and has a knowledgeable team of staff.
Due to the success of the garden centre a further two centres have been added to the family owned group in recent years, Dunbar Garden Centre and Plantsplus Garden Centre, Ponteland. BGC is the most northerly garden centre in England, serving customers from both sides of the Border. A trained horticulturalist, Lynda has worked at Berwick Garden Centre for almost 24 years and is passionate about plants, especially herbaceous perennials.

Went to get one item in particular a led light up canvas as a Christmas gift after ours we bought from there was admired, but unfortunately there usual vast display was all boxed and still to be sorted as they had been delayed due to a new instore system and were about 2/3 weeks behind with Christmas display. Then James appeared and asked which design of canvas and invited us to wait while he opened boxes and sorted through stored stock. Nothing too much bother and he found what we were looking for. Brilliant service, 5 🌟 to James
