The title of Osteopath is a state registered and protected titled profession. This means that it is against the law for someone to call themselves an Osteopath unless they have undergone and passed a rigorous 4-5 year training program from a recognised training provider. The profession is governed by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) who keep a searchable list of everyone who is qualified.
