Pathhead Equestrian Centre offers riding for all ages and abilities. We have a purpose built indoor arena, an outdoor arena and tracks all round the farm for trekking. We also offer hacking further afield along old drove roads, up onto Kirrie hill and into woods and estates beyond. Pathhead Equestrian Centre was established in 1996, by Joyce Bruce and is run by her husband, Ally Bruce on the family farm on the outskirts of Kirriemuir.
Our horses and ponies are safe and honest and can accommodate everything from beginners to advanced. Staff are very people orientated and extremely good at looking after even the most nervous rider. At the same time you will be encouraged to achieve your potential, especially if you are working at more advanced levels.

Services
Pathhead farm is located in the little red town of Kirriemuir, in beautiful rural Angus. Situated at the gateway to the glens of Clova, Prosen and Isla, it offers a unique base to explore this unspoilt and largely undiscovered part of Scotland. Whether viewed from horse-back, on foot or in a car, Kirriemuir and the surrounding area offer a real treat for any visitor.
Note - we rely heavily on our answering machine as we do not have a manned office. The landline is usually on divert to one of our mobile phones and we will usually know it has been ringing but cannot always answer immediately if we are dealing with a horse etc. If you leave a message we will get back to you very quickly, especially if it is obviously urgent.
60 per day. Children (adults are also welcome) are assigned a pony or horse for the day and learn how to feed it and look after it as well as ride it. Suitable for beginners as well as more advanced riders wanting to improve riding and horse care skills. Pathhead Equestrian Centre is an approved Pony Club Centre and children can join and participate in all pony club activities using our horses and ponies.
3. Quarantine will last for 3 full weeks with hay/haylege provided as appropriate. Quarantine field is to be poo-picked by the owner unless other arrangements have been made. This may be a shared responsibility if more than one horse is in quarantine. If need should arise, quarantine may be extended at the discretion of Pathhead Equestrian Centre.

Never been here for the horses, but visited multiple times for the food. For such a basic looking set up, the food is simply divine! Looks to be a chef and his mum doing all the work, but that doesn't impact the experience negatively at all, food was amazing and have stopped by a lot of times as well as ordering food to go. There is quite a long wait time as it's all cooked fresh, so if you haven't got time to wait I advise you call ahead and order early.

We stayed in the Bothy right next door to the equestrian Centre and it was gorgeous! Small, very steep stairs which were a struggle after a drink. But everything else was perfect.
Ali was friendly, the Bothy was supplied with eggs, milk etc for breakfast which is great. Free open wifi and log burning fire! Would recommend!
