Services
An Umbrella Solution allows contractors the flexibility of working through multiple agencies, while maintaining a single employer status. This can be beneficial for tax purposes as your tax-free allowance can be applied to your total weekly earnings, not your individual agency earnings.
As an Umbrella contractor, you become an employee of Generate, meaning you will be eligible for employment entitlements such as sick pay, maternity / paternity pay and a holiday pay plan.You will also be covered by Generates Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance. With Generate's PAYE solution, the contractor becomes one of our employees, receiving a fixed salary as agreed with the agency on a weekly or monthly basis. PAYE is the simplest payroll solution we offer, however it is only available for contractors working through a single recruitment agency. It is therefore likely to suit those on medium to long-term assignments.
CIS or Construction Industry Scheme was established in 1999 and applies to self-employed individuals working in the construction industry. Self-employed construction workers can work through Generate's construction contracting company, allowing them to be paid under CIS rules and claim tax-deductible expenses in their year end tax return.
Generate Collective (PEO) is a contractor management solution that offers Joint Employment as an extension of the Fixed PAYE Rate model. Both the agency and Generate act as the employer and share employment duties. Responsibilities of each partner are agreed in a separate framework agreement.

Not massively impressed with the company they have been used as a payroll service to people we put into work through our agency. They don't seem to make contact with the candidates if they have been paid through them previously if its been over 6 months since they where last paid, to "refresh" their details, so people get missed off and aren't paid on time which can cause a big backlash and upset. This has happened on 5 occasions now within the space of a couple months.

As a supply teacher, I have been paid through this company for just over a year. They have failed twice to set aside holiday pay after being explicitly asked and when called up on it the second time, have ignored my emails.
They take a substantial amount from your earnings to pay you and their service is not worth the money especially when there are a multitude of other companies out there with better offers.
In short, this company offers poor service for a high price and I would recommend that any contractor go elsewhere.

I am amazed at the poor customer service. If I used another company I would be several thousand pounds better of. Emails ignored, incorrect information given, no communications over p45 issued despite seasonal work, no reply from director, my professional union very disappointed with them. I strongly would not use this company, and I wouldn’t want to work for a company who treats its customers like this. Should be aloud to give them zero

Anyone who reads this .... Please STOP using this company.
I have had over 3 times more tax taken out of my pay than i should have paid. This company are a nightmare to deal with as they dont understand tax and are generally too lazy to address problems.
The only way I managed to resolve this was to get 2 years worth of pay independently audited by a tax accountant and spend 6 months with HMRC.
It has cost me a fortune.....but i have just had a whopping cheque refund from the tax office!! :) I am going to enjoy an extended 5 month holiday on the proceeds.
