Welcome to 'For The Sake of Cake': a cake making and decorating business run by myself, Emily Whittingham, in Gillingham, Kent. All cakes and hand made decorations are made to order from my domestic kitchen. I am fully insured and registered and have a 5 star food hygiene rating. Delivery can be made locally to the Medway area (Gillingham, Chatham, Rochester, Strood) for a small additional charge and subject to availability.

These look amazing and can be adapted for any occassion - birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, as a thankyou gift - to name a few examples.
These drip cakes are hugely popular at the moment. You can be as creative as you like with the options for this - any size and flavour you like, with decorations and colour scheme of your choice. This one is a tall 6 inch chocolate layer cake with 6 layers of cake inside with chocolate buttercream filling, chocolate drip and decorated with even more chocolate.
I offer a bespoke wedding cake service and can arrange to meet with you to discuss all your requirements for you cake for your big day. Choosing your wedding cake is a huge decision and my aim is to help narrow down all the choices so that you can pick your ultimate cake!
A consultation will include talking about any ideas/wishes you may already have in mind; colour scheme; tiers; number of servings; flavours and design including any decorative features you may like to include on your cake.Most importantly, I will provide tasting samples for you during the consultation so you can sample my flavours and try before you buy!

These Cream or Afternoon Tea Boxes make great gifts or can always be bought to treat yourself : Please do get in touch if you would like to discuss afternoon tea for larger groups and I would be more than happy to work out a quote for you for this. Choose either fruit or plain scones with clotted cream and jam or cheese scones with butter and red onion chutney.

Emily made my wedding cake and it was absolutely amazing! We had a tier of lemon sponge with white chocolate ganache, and a tier of chocolate sponge with peanut butter filling, all covered in white chocolate ganache. It was so delicious and moist! All done for a fantastic price too. I'll definitely be ordering from Emily again.

Ordered hen do cupcakes from For the Sake of Cake. Was very accommodating as we needed a mix of normal and gluten free cakes. All the hens loved the cakes and commented on how delicious they were and the decoration was really good. overall very pleased with my order and have already placed a second order for some birthday cupcakes
