You can find La Farola Cafe & Bistro at the corner of Therberton and Upper Street just a short walking distance from Angel and Highbury & Islington tube stations. With our large ceiling to floor windows, our cozy space feels open and inviting. Our decor reflects our food: classic with a modern twist.
We are located at 101 Upper Street, The restaurant could be easily reached from the city too. The dining area has a large glass frontage along two sides that gives it a lovely airy feel; while the decor is like the style of the food, a mix of classical and modern. Although there are tables and chairs many of our customers prefer to eat and drink continental style, standing at the bar.

One of my favourites tapas place in London, conveniently located and with really fast service, although the restaurant is usually busy in the evenings, they accommodate you quickly since tables are coming and going a lot of the times.
The food was incredible, some of the presentations were a bit funny, but it just took one bite to make us realize the presentation was not the important part.
The staff is super friendly, they all seemed very in control of their space and wiling to help, but we were received and served by Isabel, and I must say that her smile and friendliness really made us feel

A local favourite. From lockdown takeaways to brunch to tapas dinner to takeaway mulled wine during those daily winter 2020 walks - La Farola is always there! The service is friendly and professional.
The brunches are fantastic and the tapas is delicious - recommend the squid ink risotto, prawns and croquetas.
The brownie and turron and crema Catalans are to die for!

Spanish place on upper street. We were satisfied with overall experience! Highly recommend their courgette flower - it was simply amazing, the combination between honey, goat cheese and courgette was just melting in my mouth. Iced coffee was (unexpectedly) nice as well. Servers were attentive enough given that we ate outside.

Honestly best tapas place we ever ordered from, food is delicious (really recommend the squid ink risotto) and bigger portions than what you’d expect. On top of that, they seem like really lovely people - I was having some issues with a discount code and they gave us a Spritz kit to make up for it - LOVE IT and will definitely go for dinner in person once lockdown eases

Popular and lively typical Spanish small plates.
Went there for dinner on a Saturday. Even though it was pretty full we managed to get a table. Service was pretty quick, and the place was gluten free friendly (no bread though). The food was pretty good. The portions were rather small and expensive considering both quality and quantity.
Service was adequate, not unfriendly but not particularly helpful. General atmosphere was good, but a bit too rushed and hectic.

Tapas may be my favorite food of all time... & I can literally say this was the best tapas I've ever had in my life!! I was surprised by how delicious and inventive some of the dishes were. My friend and I split a bottle of wine with our dinner, and were so delighted, we got dessert. The entire experience was amazing! No wonder it's always packed. I'll be back :)

My husband and two friends and I had a great experience here last Friday night. Whilst I didn't find the food spectacular, the very accommodating staff and cheery atmosphere made it such a fun night.
They were out of the mulled wine when we had dinner at 7pmish (que pena!) but a glass of the dry white wine was very good. I ordered the sprouting broccoli, the bacalao, the baked, stuffed figs with goat cheese and my husband got the meatball and the pollo with romesco sauce. My hubs said the meatballs were a good portion size but lacked intense flavour; the pollo was much better in his opinion

This is a very busy little place full of life and joy.. What a buzz and what food! Only tried the tortilla and the broccoli salad but both were DELICIOUS! I feel lately I'm really lucky with the restaurant choices! This was a lucky pick indeed! However, not so good if you want a more quiet maybe romantic place...

I've never seen such rude service in my life. We got in at 6.30 and got told we had a table until 8pm and at 7.30 after paying the bill but still with a full glass of wine we got as good as kicked out. We weren't allowed to finish our drinks and immediately got our bill and even when we were putting on our jackets they were telling us we couldn't stay! I'm not planing on returning and suggest you don't try it either.

Disappointing breakfast choices poor quality. Our coffees were cold and the food was greasy and made with very cheap ingredients my scrambled eggs were disgusting lumps of yoke in it and under cooked we complained but got no apology. They seemed to have changed the breakfast menu with very little choice I have been here before and the food was usually very good service is not great either I am unlikely to return

Came here on a weekday evening and it was surprisingly easy to walk in without a reservation! We sat right by the door with a great view for people watching, as it is on the corner overlooking Upper Street. The waitresses were all very helpful and attentive, and they recommended 3 dishes per person, which was maybe on the high end of what you need (I think 7 or 8 would have been fine). The table was also fairly small and we found it difficult to fit more than 1 plate of tapas at a time.
Standouts on the food side were the chuletas de cordero (lamb chops) and the daily special (grilled prawns with

Hey, another tapas place that opened up a few months back. Except that I didn't even notice it was a tapas cafe. There are so many places that have climbed onto the 'tapas' bandwagon for all sorts of food, often not Spanish, but sometimes aren't that good. Happily La Farola isn't one of them.
The cafe has a relaxed, rustic and casual vibe. The staff are really friendly and inviting so off to a good start.
The cocktails are pretty good too.
The menu is more classic Spanish tapas, a good thing in my book.
We enjoyed a selection of dishes with lamb, tender pork shoulder
