Criterion Flooring provides a variety of european high quality oak floorings, laminates and carpets to suit every rooom of your home or office. From it's showroom in Berkhamsted Criterion Flooring offers a wide selection of high quality European Oak and also provide and fit, skirting boards, architraves and doors.
An existing concrete flooring should be entirely flat. An uneven floor will need to be screeded or ply board laid ( WBP Waterproofed ply board) to ensure the surface is completely flat. The under flooring will determine how stable the floor is underfoot. For example a solid wood floor bonded to a screeded sub floor will provide a stable surface, permanent under foot with better accoustics.
A solid Oak floor will last a lifetime (if properly cared for ) It has a natural beauty that can be restored to pristine condition by sanding and refurbishing every 10 years or so (depending on the traffic the floor receives.)

Engineered board is more stable with less movement but there is no more natural a product than solid Oak, which is taken directly from the tree and manufactured into board and finished to enhance lustre and colour to make any room look stunning. When laying solid wood flooring it needs to acclimatise to the humidity of the environment.
European Oak, Douglas Fir and American Black Walnut-available in up to 220mm width boards. Bordeaux is 100% European grown oak and manufactured in Europe to a very high specification. A 6mm top layer lamella is bonded to 100% birch ply and surface machined on both faces to ensure a consistent 20.5mm thickness.
The more rare hard wood species including, Walnut, Acacia and Maple are available on a special order basis and provide a more distinctive look to a room. Whilst they look beautifully sophisticated they are also heavy hardwoods, so they are tough and hard wearing with unusual grain and colour. They tend to be more expensive than Oak and provide a more unique look and feel and in solid wood form.
