Cheek2cheek Dance
Starting with group classes in just one venue, we now run weekly classes and private lessons from several different locations in West Berkshire, Wiltshire and South Oxfordshire. Plus you'll find us at other venues in the area on an ad hoc basis. Ours is a fun and friendly dance community focussed on adult social dancers.

Our aim is to not only teach you how to Ballroom dance but to send you home with a smile on your face. We run social events and dance weekends, as well as teaching people to dance. We are so pleased that many of our dancers have made lasting friendships through dance and that so many of them take part in our social calendar.
Services
I've been dancing since I was about 10 years old - a group of us started classes and I stuck it out! I competed (not very seriously) as half of an all-girl partnership as a teenager, then started to study for my teaching qualifications and became an Associate of the IDTA in 1986. Following university, I continued to dance socially and then started teaching on a regular basis again in 2006.
The business plans to expand its customer base and offer more dance services to those living in the local community and surrounding areas. Found at www. Cheek2CheekDance.co.uk, the website is full of information about classes and lessons and more. It contains potted histories of the most popular ballroom and Latin dances, the need-to-knows about the all-important wedding dance, and information on dance events in the local area.
Ballroom dancing is not just about dancing. It teaches children about good manners, respect and teamwork while developing their self-confidence and social skills. These are skills which we all use everyday as adults and. it doesn't hurt that it burns off a little of their energy! We do not offer children's classes as our focus is on classes and events for adult dancers.
There are 5 standard ballroom dances - the Viennese Waltz, the Waltz, the Tango, the Slow Foxtrot and the Quickstep. In addition, we have another one officially called Social Rhythm that can be danced at a foxtrot speed or faster, and that one is the most useful at "a do". These dances are largely European and American in origin but not entirely so.
Whether you want a few steps to put together yourselves or a choreographed routine for your first dance, help is here. Ideally the newlyweds dance alone for about three minutes - it really isn't that long and you'll get great photos! Remember to check the lyrics of your song to see if they're right for your big day.
