Packard Publishing was founded over 40 years ago by Clare and Michael Packard. It is located in the Cathedral city of Chichester in the south of England between the sea and the South Downs. The firm is now concentrating on semi-academic books in the niche markets of landscape studies and garden design (not general gardening), applied ecology and land management, and to a lesser extent English and French language and literature (poetry).
We are also 'mining' the backlist, revising and reprinting chapters from books such as those in our Vulnerable and Threatened Landscape series, for example, whose authors or editors are deceased or long retired, or from Land and Estate Management. From the early 2010s we concentrated on publishing 'workshop' books on topics in the garden-design curriculum for students and landscape professionals.
