The Retreat Boarding Kennels is a licensed, family run business providing kennelling services in the Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire areas. All our kennels are designed to a high specification providing spacious accommodation to keep your dog happy. They all have underfloor heating, a raised Kuranda bed with fleece veterinary bedding and blanket.
We are happy for you to provide your own beds, blankets and toys to make your dog feel more at home. We are proud to offer luxury kennels. Our pampered pups are walked twice daily and let out to play in a secure play area, with lots of fuss and care. You are welcome to view the kennels before booking your dog in upon prior arrangement.

Services
The Retreat Boarding Kennels is situated in Fairford Gloucestershire, in the heart of the cotswolds. As a small, family run kennel your pup's comfort, happiness and safety is our prime concern. We have on site grooming and washing facilities, and our staff are experienced and loving towards all of our dogs.

What a lifesaver!! Having been cancelled on last minute on Christmas Eve by our sitter, we had to hunt for a space for our dogs Kevin and Maggie. The Retreat kindly took them on, and I am so pleased they did as they were so well looked after. Both came back tired and happy, having stayed in heated and modern kennels. Kevin is a very nervous dog and they made extra effort to ensure he was comfortable and well looked after. A very stressful situation made much easier by these guys, thank so much!

A quick review to say thank you to Alli & Rob for taking such good care of our dog. Our previous kennels closed due to the pandemic and The Retreat couldn't have taken better care of us and the dog in transitioning to a new place. We particularly like the supervised play with selected other dogs. Angus made a new friend in Sam! We will be back. The Retreat is a family run business and their commitment to the animals is clear in everything they do. Thanks again.

I dropped my 10 year old King Charles Cavalier off so I could take my daughter away for a weekend. We were welcomed by Ali at the reception who made Fizzy feel at ease and even showed us around. while we was there I suggested could we also have fizzy groomed which was no problem. This afternoon on our way home we collected fizzy and I must say her grooming was 1st class and I could see she was well looked after. When I go away again I'll be using Ali and her staff again.

I cannot speak highly enough about The Retreat. We had never boarded our dogs before and were apprehensive about doing so. However when we arrived at The Retreat we were immediately put at ease. Ally and Rob met us and showed us around the impressive set up they have there. Lovely glass fronted kennels with underfloor heating, a raised bed plus access for them to a little covered outdoor area. They also have an outdoor enclosed play area with an agility course which the dogs can be taken to run around in. On top of all that the dogs get walked a couple of times a day around the lakes at the water

I would have no hesitation in recommending The Retreat! They do a wonderful job of grooming my Westie and she is always so happy to go in to see Rob & Ally. The day care service is brilliant and whilst I’ve not yet used the facility for boarding, I definitely will in the future. It’s just a shame they don’t take humans! Maddie particularly likes the dog playground and of course the fabulous walks around the lakes. Great value, professional service and a friendly welcome.

Fantastic customer service and excellent rapport with the dogs.
I took my dog for a very overdue groom today. We were both very anxious due to previous bad experiences with groomers but were very quickly reassured we were in good hands.
A hard job well done, we both could not be happier and I will be recommending The Retreat to everyone.

5 Star service from start to finish. After speaking to Rob on the phone to arrange our French bulldogs stay we was greeted by Ali in reception.They were both very friendly and put us at ease . It was the first time we have left our dog so i was alittle nerves but seeing the amazing set up and having regular pictures from them both of our dog on gorgeous walks around the lakes and playing in the onsite playpen. Made my weekend away even better. Cant thank you all enough. Would highly recommend and use again
