I am based on the Isle of Wight and have been working on small house renovation, painting and decorating projects since 2004. This includes small carpentry jobs and custom joinery. I also take on projects involving simple building maintenance or repair tasks as well as creating small home improvements that help to make life easier.
I generally work alone but am happy to take my place as part of a team working on larger jobs. I work island-wide and also have connections in North London, working on projects in and around Hampstead Village. Clearly detailed quotes, ongoing job costs and fully itemised expenses are provided as standard practice.

Maintaining a home to save money in the long run, or never letting things go too far - that's my philosophy to building renovation, repair and decoration. When paint starts to lift it's time to act - sort it out now while the job is still easily fixed and you'll save yourself money over time. Of course you may wish to pull everything out and replace it with a more energy efficient, eco-friendly alternative - and that may be the best option.
As well as general repairs, my joinery projects include the building of bespoke furniture, especially fitted storage such as cupboards, cabinets, built-in wardrobes, dressing tables, libraries and shelves.
This interior joinery and carpentry tends to be eclectic in its reach and I'm not tied to one particular style, preferring to reflect the period of the property and the personal style preference of my clients as well as using my own ideas drawn from experience of what works at a practical level.I am generally involved from the outset, either helping my clients to develop their own ideas, or providing designs to get the project off the ground.

A percentage of my work as a carpenter and joiner involves the development and build of garden features & structures such as small timber decks and steps, gates, garden furniture, planters as well as general repairs to sheds These jobs tend to be small to medium in size and like a lot of my other work, I am generally involved with the client from the outset, talking through the design/build options before fixing on the finished scheme.
If you've got some home ideas of your own that are not yet fully formed, I can help. Nearly everything you see here contains a degree of design whether it's furniture, interior features or garden woodwork. By improving functionality through restoration, or building something that helps interpret your own thoughts - design remains a key factor.
