Services
That was the start of Channings Childcare. Today Channings has 6 nurseries and employs over 100 members of staff. During those years, more than 3,500 children have drunk their morning milk at Channings. We are celebrating over 30 years of Channings Childcare. The Channings team celebrated winning the Supporting Young People category of the Oldham Business Awards.
Your child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. Children develop quickly in the early years and we recognise that, whilst in our care, we are preparing your children for later learning. We encourage them to explore, ask questions and develop confidence and we never forget that play is always the most important part of childhood.
Our staff are chosen to maintain a balance of older and younger, experienced and recently qualified and apprentice nursery assistants. We have many long serving staff (even one or two from the very beginning) and we're proud to say that we have generations of families with us. All nursery staff are screened by the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and undergo annual Staff Suitability Declaration checks.

Depending upon the time of the child's attendance, we provide breakfast, a mid- morning snack of fresh fruit, a two course lunch, a mid- afternoon fruit snack and late afternoon tea.

My son started at Newhey 2 months ago. He's barely had any socialisation due to covid and I cannot recommend the nursery enough. They have been so lovely bringing him out of his shell with the other kids and doing everything they can to help with his fussy eating and food intolerances. I've noticed such a difference in him as well with development.… Really coming on beautifully. They are so nice and understanding, answering every question I had and putting my nervous mind at rest. Really thank you and he loves it. Gets excited to go in and we've never had a single tear.

Well tomorrow is the end of an era for my little monkey who leaves channings in newhey the staff have been wonderful and have helped my son thomas come on leaps and bounds since he started 2 years ago can't… believe how quick he's progressed with the help of the girls at channings in newhey would definitely recommend thomas said he will miss you all loads
