Bigmore Associates was founded when Britain had just switched over to decimal currency, we had not yet joined the E.C. and a 3-bedroom house in Walton on Thames cost 8,000. We are a financial services business which provides independent financial advice to a broad range of private individuals, trusts and small businesses.
First things first, pensions are financial products that are paid into while you're working, with the aim of providing them money when you retire. Pensions can be created via the workplace, be bought and operated via a provider, or managed personally. Pension pots grow through the years as more money is invested in them, as interest is paid on the sum, or as stocks, shares and other investments grow in value.

For many generations retirement was a straightforward idea where you worked until 60 or 65 and then lived off the pension income from your employer and the state pension. Today retirement is a far more fluid concept with many working well into their 70's and beyond. Many people reduce hours, go part time or take on a lower paid or consultancy type role.

I reached out to Bigmores around 4 years ago to sort out my pensions and other financial matters as I was about to retire. I met David Dunn in the office in Walton and he has since been my go to person with anything financial, offering his expert advice and recommending what he thinks are my best options to maximise my returns on my SIPP pension plan.
