Willowbank Lodges nestle in a small hamlet bordering the Kennet and Avon canal in the heart of the Pewsey Vale in Wiltshire and are surrounded by beautiful countryside and stunning wildlife. The five luxury lodges offer self catered accommodation and have been recently built on a three and a half acre site previously used as a trout farm and in earlier years, as watercress beds.
The cabins are ideally situated to take advantage of the modern conveniences of the local village of Pewsey or the famous town of Marlborough, whilst at the same time enabling the visitor to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this very special part of Wiltshire. The log cabins have been constructed using Russian redwood timber from sustainable forests and are designed to be lived in all year round.

Services
These cabins are spacious even though they only have one bedroom and have the same level of comfort as the larger ones. The cabins have been built back to back with verandas facing in opposite directions with one having lovely views of the lake (River Birch) and the other overlooking the pretty stream and benefiting from the evening sun (Heron's Nest).
These cabins are of a similar interior design as the smaller ones, ie, fun stripes and checks, bright rugs, squashy sofas, comfy beds and smart kitchens. They are of course much larger, having two bedrooms - master bedroom with slightly larger than average king size bed and en-suite bathroom and the other, larger bedroom (to allow a third bed if required) with its own separate spacious shower room.
The idea of a holiday is usually to 'get away from it all'. However, we realise that many people require broadband even when on holiday and we have now been able to set up unlimited free WiFi in all the cabins. We are happy to create a space to accommodate guests' bicycles in one of our own sheds and anyone requiring the use of the shed will be given a key.
We are very privileged to be living in an area steeped in tradition and history, with three World Heritage sites within an easy driving distance (Stonehenge, Avebury and Bath). We have many delightful towns and villages to explore, country houses, museums and gardens to visit and plenty of traditional pubs and excellent restaurants.
From Willlowbank's gates we have marvellous walks without having to cross a main road. The local lanes are so quiet you can walk and cycle with little disturbance and of course we have the famous Kennet and Avon canal within 100m of the cabins, so convenient for those kayaking enthusiasts.
From Milkhouse Water bridge you can walk or cycle along the canal path to Wootton Rivers (with nice traditional village pub, The Royal Oak) and beyond towards the Savernake Forest and Hungerford or in the opposite direction to Pewsey Wharf (mooring/hiring place for lots of colourful canal boats plus a cafe and shop) and beyond to Wilcot and Devizes where the amazing Caen Locks can be found.

Willowbank Lodges is my new happy place, I did not want to leave! The lodge was super comfortable and the view was amazing. So peaceful and just a wonderful place to be. My dogs loved it and so did I. So many birds to see and walks to have. It really is so very nearly perfect and I can't wait to return.

If you're seeking peace and tranquillity, then this is for you. Basic but comfortable facilities. We have a family weekend here, using all five chalets and it is perfect. Plenty of room for youngsters to run around (although there is also deep water here). Lots to explore in surrounding countryside.

A truly unique place, beautiful surroundings set in the heart of the countryside. We love the peaceful setting on the doorstep to stunning scenery in all directions. The accommodation is to a very high standard with the attention to detail very refreshing, a lot of thought has gone into what is supplied. We will be returning again later this year to continue exploring the local countryside.
