Services
At the Tipson Choi Kwang Do Martial Arts Academy we aim to create a sense of belonging to both students and instructors through their martial arts training. They both share a common goal for health, personal development and street self defence. Our instructors are committed to helping all the students grow both mentally and physically as martial artists, by teaching inner strength, leadership skills, self respect and esteem for others.
Choi Kwang Do was developed by Grandmaster Kwang Jo Choi between 1978 and 1987 and has proved to be the most effective martial arts system in the world. Choi Kwang Do's natural easy to learn, sequential movements maximise your body's force producing capabilities, but more importantly, they increase opportunities to enhance your health.
Unlike traditional cardiovascular training, patterns make your body move in many directions and stimulate your brain. Patterns are useful for practicing techniques and linking them together without impact or a training partner. Striking pads such as focus mitts and air shields is great for reducing stress and strengthens bones over time.
Martial arts' training at Tipson Choi Kwang Do is designed to develop both the physical and mental fitness of all our students. With the help of our friendly instructors each class is focused on helping individuals live a more productive life whilst training them in the effective street self defence martial art known as Choi Kwang Do.
Tigers is a class specifically aimed at our pre-school students aged from 3 years old to 4 years old. This is a fantastic experience for the young students and is a great way of increasing co-ordination and learning through our exercises. The class structure is specifically aimed at this age group and is unlike any other martial arts type classes.

My kids and I joined Tipson Choi Kwang Do Academy four weeks ago from another martial art school. So far we are enjoying amazing training sessions. I am particularly happy about my kids training. Senior instructors really spend time to go through every little detail with my kids. I would definitely recommend Tipson Academy for the people who wish to become a real martial artist.

Choi Kwang Do is a practical full body martial art that pushes your body and mind. Tipson Choi Kwang Do Acadmy is a great place to train and learn in a friendly and non judgemental environment.
The teaching staff are approachable and knowledgable and the Assistant instructors are always there to help you when you find something difficult or want to push yourself.
Why not give it a try, beats the gym hands down, plus the first lesson is free!!

I suffer with the three "f's"...forty (something), fat and (un) fit. Not been going long, but loving it. You warm up at the start and warm down at the end, as for the bit in the middle, I see it this way...you are always encouraged to do your best, but never more than you are comfortable with. Before you know it, you have worked up a sweat and… learning a new skill. Mental skill as well as physical. All is very professional...and if you have had a bad day at work, you get to have a "go" at the pads, good to blow off some steam and hone your skills. Give it a go, you may surprise yourself
