In our exciting Plymouth Cross project, we have redeveloped the 300,000 sq ft former Derrys Department Store site. 3 new atria will flood the new development with light. The development consists of 500 high end student accommodation rooms, a 110 bed hotel, pre-let to Premier Inn and approx. 65,000 sq ft of leisure / retail accommodation.
Services
We seek to deploy capital at the strategically right time in the property cycle. We have built up a solid reputation and an extensive network of contacts over several years, which gives us the inside track on opportunities, often before they come to market. We keep a close eye on other ways to enhance the properties, for example by obtaining change of use from office to residential, or retail to student accommodation.
Thames Bank is led by Colin Morris, supported by Ian Kitchener. Together, they have in depth experience of finance, development, investment and leasing in all the main commercial & residential property sectors. Colin has worked in the property industry for the last 25 years.

Acquired circa 300,000 sq ft former Derrys Department Store site, Plymouth City centre, in an off market deal. Obtained planning permission to create 500 bed student accommodation, 110 bed hotel & c65,000 sq ft leisure / retail. Our strategy has been to redevelop this landmark site which, like other large department stores in UK cities, had simply become obsolete.
Transformed gross annual rent from 60,000 short term risky income into 460,000 income from quality covenants on leases made attractive to the investment market. Building restored from near total dilapidation into a sought after office building combining period elegance with a modern specification. We sold the property at the height of the market, before the property crash at a net yield of 4.9%.

Impossible company to deal with. Straight forward claim was passed over. Now they have put me on to an auto renewal - I can't get through to the number they supplied on the renewal email and the live chat button conveniently doesn't work. AVOID.

Allowed me to purchase a policy and then was told that I had been quoted the wrong price. Felt like I was being scammed.
Was told that a software issue had caused the wrong quote to appear on a comparison site for 30 minutes. Although the same policy was still available hours later for the same price.

The company is chasing me for an admin fee from a policy I supposedly had years ago. When pressed to provide information on this they aren't able to provide an precise details and just push for a cash payment. I've forwarded the details to the fraud prevention agency and would suggest anyone dealing with this organisation to be very cautious.

Terrible insurance broker who always tries to rip off customers. I got a building only insurance (not content), in a completely casual conversation, when they found out a child moves in, I was told I had to pay extra premium because "more occupants more chances to damage the building". I tried to explain, the insurance document says tenants are by virtue of tenancy agreement. Children are never classified as tenants. But they would not listen, their interpretation of tenants are occupants. If you have a building only policy with them, you will be liable to keep them posted if you or your tenants

I called the claims department at 16:00 and the first thing attendant said was if it is urgent only then tell me otherwise I can call tomorrow. Then without asking my member details or anything he said that my computer is not covered in the insurance if I was working on it. Although I have clearly got it insured upon buying the insurance. He has been outright rude and from very first second of the phone call been saying "your claim is rejected"

Paid extra for printed & posted policy and never received it. I then called and told that this had not arrived, after trying to charge me again for it, which I just realised before giving all my card details for them to charge me for what I'd already paid for. After explaining that I'd already paid for this service, they said they would send it out. Still no sign of this after a few weeks! Sort it out you weak bunch of service people. Am I actually insured? This company's slackness worries me. Would've gone elsewhere if I'd have known. I hate wasting my time and money contacting company's for simple
