I came to Mackenzie’s for a lesson for my birthday over a year and a half ago and it was so much better than the other place I was riding at Mackenzie’s Equestrian Centre provides lessons livery summer camps and more, I honestly can’t express enough how good it is I have recently got into the more advanced lessons and I am so happy there, the instructors will push you on but if you are a bit scared to do something they will let it come to you naturally, if you are looking for somewhere to ride, this is the place the place to go!

Cannot reccomend here highly enough, my young daughter has been so well looked after by all the staff and other owners about the yard. Loaning a pony seemed quite daunting but with the help of everyone it's been a brilliant experience for our whole family. At 6yrs old she has had some great times here at summer camp, in lessons and even a few wee shows.

Booked in for me and my daughter to have a lesson . No one was about to greet us had to stop someone to explain to them we where there for a lesson and where do we go .
Was told to wait at the horses which we waited for an hour before getting a message to say they booked us in for the wrong day .
Wasn't Very impressed as I was told that the instructor was finishing a lesson and would be with us in 10 minutes not long after we arrived. Waited a further 40 minutes to then be told could we come back at another time or day .
Least to say my 4 year old daughter was absaloultey devastated .

I brought my daughter and her friend here... in which 1 was a beginner and slightly scared of getting on the horse.... i found this place very disorganised as 1 of the 2 girls left to get a form , meanwhile the horse proceeded to groom another horse freaking the wee one out resulting in her crying and getting off.... at the beginning they didn't even have enough horses out... I heard them mention there time slots... half 6 to half 7 and half 7 to hlf 8 etc no time at all to prepare for new customers coming in.... getting forms prepared, checking how many horses are needed etc... this is the 2nd

Amazing place to have lessons. I started as a beginner and the instructor was very patient and understanding. I now do the occasional jumping lesson with my lovely instructor shannon and all the ponies are fantastic. Yard has a very friendly atmosphere and when I would go to visit the horses the people are very welcoming. Would highly reccomend

Was introduced to this riding centre back in October, my daughter had been riding 6 months and still on a long rein, she hadn’t got passed a trot and was getting bored. When we arrived up at Mckenzie’s yard the first thing I noticed was the warm friendly atmosphere, Shannon the instructor was very professional, strict but fair she let Victoria ride Ginger and my daughter was cantering on her own before the end of the lesson! I was ecstatic and Victoria was amazed, was a real confidence builder because Shannon, Beth and Lucy know what the kids or adults are capable of and they are passionate

I took my daughter and some friends for a birthday party lesson here, the staff were extremely friendly upon arrival. Everyone got fitted for hats while the parents filled in the paperwork stating what each childs previous ability was, safety was at the forefront which impressed me, the ponies were quiet and the girls really enjoyed their lesson with Ellen. My daughter has been hooked ever since and attends now for weekly lessons and her riding ability has progressed she has had various lessons with all the instructors, Lucy, Beth and Shannon who have all been influential with their input to develop

Better signs needed so new comers know where to go. Could also have a better welcome, no one introduced themselves and took a while to feel comfortable. Nothing was explained as to how the lesson worked, also weren't told there'd be other people there - not that it was a problem but would have been nice to know what we were expecting. However, once we got in to it, it was a nice day and experience. Having the wee boy walk the horses round was a bit strange but, overall it was a good experience, just could do with a few changes
