Service and room great, very clean and friendly reception staff. When arriving at the restaurant at 17:55 for our dinner reservation no staff at reception area to take us to table. After asking a member of staff from the bar to get someone we were seated. Starter and main course great but after getting our cheese board which cost £9 the Brie cheese was hard as a rock and stale. Not edible. When the waitress brings the bill which was £96 she had taken £1 off our bill. I felt insulted and should not have had to pay for this cheese board after spending £96 in the restaurant. Expensive restaurant

This place is amazing to stay, the quality of the accommodation is stunning! However communication could be better. We were arriving with 2 dogs but the people on reception weren’t aware when we arrived despite them being on our booking. The issue was resolved to our satisfaction but after an 8 hour drive we didn’t need this.
Amy the waitress and Mandy the receptionist were amazing!! A real credit to our stay! The food in the restaurant was great, the staff (mentioned) amazing.
The grounds are stunning only a short walk to the highest point takes you to a monument to a Thomas Graham, the
