Proud to have hosted the 2019 Ladies and Girls Home Internationals and SPGA Championship. Downfield Golf Club, set in beautiful parkland in the city of Dundee, has been described by Paul Lawrie (1999 Open Champion) as 'one of the finest inland courses in Britain'.

Combining wonderful scenery with the natural wildlife of squirrels, water fowl, buzzards and deer, Downfield offers a truly challenging and enjoyable experience to all golfers regardless of their abilities.In 2016, Downfield was chosen as a qualifying course for the Senior Open which was played at Carnoustie.

Club House/Opening Hours Report

The clubhouse at Downfield Golf Club caters for members and visitors, and offers the following facilities: large lounge area and well stocked bar, dining room, pool room, 19th Hole bar/television room, visitors locker room and showers with full size lockers available. Visitors are treated as temporary members and are welcome to use all the facilities on offer.

Fully stocked PGA Pro shop with special offers and fully trained, friendly staff on hand at all times. Great social calendar and clubhouse environment with terrific food available for you and your guests. The opportunity to play golf as often as you like (or have the time to golf) at one of the top 20 inland courses in the country.

Throughout his time here, he has developed into an easily approachable, confident and knowledgeable golf coach. He endeavours to make sure that his clients enjoy their sessions and leave with a clear idea of what they need to do to get better. His enthusiasm for the game and desire to help people improve has helped him to teach a broad range of students from complete beginner to aspiring tournament professionals.

Greenkeepers' Blog Report

After a mild end to 2018 winter has finally hit us with snow and freezing temperatures meaning we need to put our big coats on now. The course has been closed recently due to the snow and ice but the greenkeeper's have been busy carrying out various tasks such as servicing machinery, painting the course furniture and doing some tree management.

Great day out for a charity event. Course was in great shape, greens were slick and overall a really enjoyable day. Food in the clubhouse after round was also great. Well done green staff and catering team 👍🏼

Was there for a SAD Occasion. Staff and service were excellent.. First time there. I think you can go in with a member. Nice place. Lovely bar. You can watch the golfers tee off, and finish 18th hole.

This course is certainly one to play, we had a fun four ball, the course was in excellent condition, a couple of greens needed a little bit of help but I'm sure this has been put right with the better weather we have had.The staff and the service was also excellent so please don't miss the opportunity to play this course, it is a credit to Dundee.

Great layout and terrific test of golf. No easy holes and this course tests players of all abilities. Friendly members who run very well organised Open Comps and the catering staff can provide you with excellent food and service. Highly recommend this top parkland course!

Downfield is a wonderful parkland golf course which is extremely well maintained. The greens are in great shape and are consistent throughout. The staff is excellent and very welcoming. As a alternate to the links courses, this was a perfect choice on our Scottish golf trip.
