Services
Up until 1850 the park was part of the Wheal Union tin mine. The old mine workings are now the site of the children's play area. In the 1930s modest camping facilities were established on what was then part of a farm attached to Harford House. At the beginning of the 1939-45 war the site was requisitioned for war use and a temporary army camp built.
Thriving Tavistock is a well-connected market town on the edge of Dartmoor with a long history and heritage. Just 2.5 miles from Harford Bridge Park, it is easily reached by an 'A' road, a purpose built cycle path and a footpath all the way. From its earliest days a commercial centre, with an Abbey playing a large part in shaping its future and buildings; from the first printing press outside of London to creating the much loved Devon cream tea.
We're now well into 'Step 4' and Harford Bridge Park as well as almost everything to be enjoyed in Devon is open. In Devon the bounce-back has been strong with some great events upcoming - check out Events on our free Mobile App. In Tavistock our markets have re-opened and other special events in the town are upcoming.
Leave the M5 from Bristol at Junction 31 (after Exeter). Take the A30 and leave this at the next junction beyond Okehampton onto the A386. We are 10 miles from this point - you will see the Harford Bridge Park sign on the A386 at the turning left to Peter Tavy. From Plymouth follow the A386 through Tavistock heading towards Okehampton.
Our Shepherd's Hut is for comfortable camping for two and those who want a stylish and slightly quirky holiday experience. Escape Pod 2's have a pull down double bed, shower room, kitchen and french windows to a deck with views to Dartmoor and Cox Tor. Ideal for short breaks for 2. All holiday caravans are 12ft wide and a minimum of 35ft long with central heating & double glazing.

An absolutely lovely site and highly recommended. Easy check-in with a member of staff physically guiding you to your pitch.
There is a lovely river and Riverside pitches are available.
The facilities were kept very clean and they were all located within a short distance of eachother.
Inside and outside washing up facilities, laundry, an area with secure lockers and phone charging lockers were also available for a charge which is handy if you don't have an EHU.
There is also a bicycle hub for storing your bike should you wish to use it and there is information inside about bike paths etc

I used to come camping here a lot about 10 years ago with my parents and we always loved it.
I came recently with me partner and yet again it didn't let me down. It's a lovely campsite, with lots of walks and things to do just a short drive away.
Facilities were excellent. Thee toilets were cleaned and maintained very well. You can tell this is more than just a business to the people who run it, they genuinely care.
If you're heading to Dartmoor, this is the only place you should be going!

What a place. This holiday park has been absolutely fantastic. We're staying in one of the new camping plus pods and it has been incredible. The facilities are very well looked after and the whole site is clean and tidy. The staff and very friendly and welcoming as are the guest. There is a little shop which you can get all you need and also you can book fresh pastries for the morning. With free WiFi whilst on site and the enjoyment of the ducks walking up to say hello. I would highly recommend it to all ages
