Services
With over thirty years' experience, our framers certainly know how to make the very best of every job. We can create frames from standard mouldings, or make something very special in our own workshop, utilising hand finishing techniques to produce unique effects. Our background is in art and design, and we have earned an enviable reputation over the years for innovative solutions, quality and presentation.
This describes most of what we do, which is why we got our name! We make bespoke frames out of many materials, wood, plastic and metal, in all shapes, colours and sizes. We select only the finest materials and build them to last. We use conservation quality acid-free mountboard, tape and backing board, meaning that precious artwork is safely displayed in a protected environment.
These range from simple deep frames to internally illuminated trophy cabinets, depending on the nature and dimensions of the artefacts to be displayed. Sometimes we float mount a print within a shallow box frame, giving a three-dimensional effect with interesting shadows. Large or heavy objects can be accommodated within specially deep cases, such as this Kalashnikov AK-47.
Typically, we use English character oak, sometimes dubbed 'catspaw' due to the shape of the knots, and will often incorporate other 'imperfections' such as bark to enhance the look. We machine the planks to optimise the best figuring and burrs, often allowing the outer frame shape to follow the contours of the grain, emphasising the inherent movement of the timber.
A recent and increasingly popular division of our work is making fun distorting mirrors. Typically associated with a fairground or carnival Hall of Mirrors, these provide endless fun for all ages, as the ever changing reflection provides great hilarity. We make these to order, either as wall mounted items, or double sided free standing.

My much treasured oil painting had been in an unattractive thick gold ornate frame for many years which became shabby and dated. I was amazed how beautiful it now looks in its new modern frame and really appreciated the advice and guidance on the colour choices too. Very many thanks - a fabulous result.

Totally blown away by the beautiful floating frames that were hand painted for my two contemporarty oil paintings (created by a special and truly talented friend and I needed to do them justice in the framing process.) They look absolutely incredible and were done so quickly.
I have used Uckfield Framing Company for a fair bit of work over the years and I have always been delighted.
THANK YOU!

Tim and the team at Uckfield Framing Company have framed six paintings for me to date and there are more on the way to them. Their attention to detail, their artistic eye and their willingness to spend the time and be creative about finding the very best frame for your picture, is simply brilliant. Their work represents excellent value for money.

Tim at Uckfield Framers was incredibly helpful and created bespoke frames from Yew Tree wood for me; he was un-fazed by working with an unusual material and was professional and thorough in assisting me to develop the frames. He regularly sent me updates and checked-in with me on even the most intricate details to check that I was happy with the progress. The framing is amazing and very good value for money. The trip on the train was worth it to get such a specialised and personal service. I would recommend Uckfield Framers to anyone wanting a little bit extra that you just don't get from most

I have had a number of paintings reframed at Uckfield Framing Company and have always been delighted with their work and have no hesitation in recommending them. Friendly expert advice and very reasonable pricing. Nothing is too much trouble. Free parking right outside their premises is also a real bonus.
I recently inherited an old and dirty oil painting. Tim arranged for it to be cleaned and then reframed it. The transformation is quite amazing giving it a whole new lease of life. It now sits very well in a modern house and much admired by all that see it.
Many thanks to Tim and all his team

I found Uckfield framing company while looking for a for a good local framer to work with as I felt my Scottish photographic frame supplier was too distant.
I'm pleased to say that Tim and his team have met and exceeded my expectations.
The quality of the framing has always been spot on which reflects Tim's excellent workmanship.
