Services
We know that James Braid charged a fee of ten guineas with ten shillings and six pence expenses for his 1922 design work at Tyrrells Wood (a total of only 11.02p in today's money!). Braid identified and marked out tees and greens (starting and finishing points) together with the sequence of play, then Alan Gow was entrusted with the actual laying out of the course.
We currently have a waiting list for all categories including 7-day, 6.5-day and 5-day, please contact us to be added to the list or for any further information. Presently new additions to the waiting list are unlikley to join the Club before 2022.

The Tyrrells Wood Golf Academy is an initiative designed with new golfers in mind. It provides the most comprehensive introduction to the game, giving members the perfect stepping stone into full membership of the golf club. Working alongside our experienced PGA Professionals, Academy members will have a unique opportunity to develop their golfing skills through regular instruction and sociable golf.
At Tyrrells Wood we aim to encourage and improve our Junior Membership. We offer weekly coaching sessions which are completely funded by the Golf Club. These sessions cover all aspects of the game and are designed to get all involved and ultimately HAVE FUN! A national scheme that identifies and recognises junior and beginner friendly golf facilities.

Nice course and real confident booster.. really short and no real protection so pretty easy to play.. nice if you’re not on your game and want to get that confidence back... food was good and service was also nice with a good pro shop.. met a few members of which some were nice, however many not friendly, of which I am sure isn’t representative of the many
