Potten Farm Equestrian
Potten Farm Equestrian is set in 75 acres of Hertfordshire countryside. We are a family owned and run dressage stables offering part, full and training livery services. We also have limited spaces available for grass and barn kept youngstock livery. We are situated in the hamlet of Chandlers Cross, between Watford, Sarratt and Rickmansworth and are ideally situated for many areas, especially London and the M25.

We offer a relaxed, rural setting with the convenience of many nearby road and train networks into London. Our location, range of training facilities, top quality care and ethical approach to keeping and training horses mean that you can always make the most of the time spent with your equine partner knowing that they are safe in the best possible hands.
Services
Potten Farm Equestrian was born when the Cahill family bought a run down DIY stable yard in Hertfordshire. It had fallen hugely into disrepair and lacked any real facilities but after a lot of hard work the new and improved PFE began to take shape. These days we are very much a family run business.
At PFE we have started a small breeding programme which we aim to continue to expand over the coming years. We now have a few exciting young horses coming through who boast the best in German and Dutch lines some of which are offered for sale. We are also proud to extend our services to offer owners of dressage horses a complete training and producing package, whether your aim is to compete or sell.
We are continuing to develop an attractive and practical area that will inspire a community of like-minded creators. Our vision is to create an environment where creatives and professionals can work in a peaceful, safe and secure setting. We currently have to offer a choice of varying size spaces for individuals or for those wishing to share.

I can confirm a previous poor review of the behaviour of the yard owner. She is incapable of conversing on a decent civilised level, is rude and highly intolerant.

I have been a livery at Potten Farm for over 8 years, I think this is testament to how happy both my horse and I have been with the service and level of care. The owners take pride in the both the care they give and the premises which makes for a great environment. Over the years I have seen development of the facilities as they continue to invest in the business.
Thank you for the past 8 or so years, here’s to many more!

I shared the most wonderful horse here for a while (since previously sharing him at more welcoming yards) However, because I did not know one of the yard rules, I got yelled at most inappropriately by the yard owner. Following that occasion, she treated me to death glares and an uncomfortable atmosphere, until I eventually left there. I do miss that lovely horse i shared for more than six years!

Horses are truly priority here. Couldn't ask for more caring people to look after my horse. I work in london so am not there in the week but know I never have to worry about my horse. Fabulous facilities and lovely liveries.

Brilliant livery yard. As a very fussy horse owner, I trust the PFE team to look after my horses when I am away.
The horses relax really nicely and the other liveries are lovely. There’s always someone to hack out with and someone to help you. The facilities allow me to keep my Eventer fit all year round whilst working full time. The off road tracks are well maintained and the school is beautiful with mirrors and full set of show jumps. With a walker and separate lunge pen I never have to wait to use facilities. They often have clinics to join and my instructor is welcome.
The grazing is plentiful
