The London Equestrian Centre comes highly commended by the British Horse Society and we pride ourselves on our friendly, welcoming environment extended to all visitors who clip clop through the front gate. A family run business established 30 years ago, the London Equestrian Centre has built a reputation for providing competent, approachable teaching staff and stocks a wide range of much loved horses and ponies to suit all standards.
Services
The London Equestrian Centre is set in 34 acres of its own green belt land overlooking the Totteridge Valley. There are good transport links for riders living in central London, including Mill East Tube Station (on the northern line) which is a short walk or bus ride away. We have copious parking available and are ideally located on the Mill Hill/Finchley border to accommodate riders from North London and Hertfordshire.

I do not recommend this riding centre. The atmosphere is classist, unwelcoming and rude. When I used to ride here years ago, when the prices were somewhat affordable, the instructor was consistently 5-10 minutes late. I did not receive the service I paid for neither was I reimbursed. In reality, only a fraction of the allotted lesson time was spent riding.
I did a week of work experience here. After a very brief explanation of some basics we were told to get on with it. After hours of physical labour we took a 5 minute break to rest and were told to go find something to do instead of standing

Hello,
Have been trying to get in touch with LEC for some days, with no success. Is there any recommendation from existing Clients to get in touch with the Manager or the person in charge of bookings at the center, other than sending an email? What is the most effiicient way please?
I would like to book my little girls bday party with ponies in 3 weeks! Thank you in advance.

Surprising to find a pleasant riding school accessible (relatively) via tube from Central London. I'm a novice so can't comment with expertise but horses were very calm, instructor was professional and the premises looks reasonably well looked after. It seems more like a relaxed riding school rather than stuck up. It suited me anyway. Will return after my legs are no longer sore šŸ¤£

Horses left without supervision most of the time. I've now reported few times and today, again, saw a child being attacked from the same horse. Called the center, told Helen but she couldn't care less. I told her that I've been left without a choice and have to report this to the police. she told me to go ahead. Awful. she didn't even let me speak and told me that they have all the rights to leave those horses around. I did ask her to put some signs around so that kids might be stopped before finding themselves with a horse running after them.

One of the best riding school in London. Instructors are really professional and their teaching metodology helps kids to improve their riding skills quickly. For parents there is also cafeteria to eat or drink something while waiting fro kids.

Nice place but it is really expensive and the staff are not kids friendly.
My kids enjoyed the experience but for the price you paid, they should get more. The staff are really worried about finishing soon and going home and donā€™t show the kids much about horses. Also, you pay Ā£40 for an 30 min lesson but more than a lesson is a ride and one of the staff in the middle of the ride spent 5 min chatting with other people while my daughter was waiting on the horse.
Staff should be more friendly because kids like not only ride but also know about how to care a horse and others.

Critical:Ā Professionalism
Atmosphere is tense and not professional and the management have no respect for people in general let alone customers. The instructors change too often - clearly not the best place to ride or work.

I took my niece for her first horse riding lesson here and I can't emphasise enough what a wonderful experience it was! From the offset the staff were friendly and efficient, fitting a helmet and telling us where to go to wait for the instructor (even when it was very busy).
My niece's teacher was Robyn, she had a warm and patient approach, effortlessly making the lesson a fun and exciting experience. Robyn took the time to help my niece get over her initial worries about riding a pony and actually put her mind at ease in a way that I couldn't.
Her pony Ellie was very calm and well behaved. I

I took my wife and son for their first riding lesson as complete beginners. Jane at the office was very polite, friendly and helpful on the phone when booking and when we were there today. Charlie, the instructor, was very good with both my wife and son. She made them feel at ease with the lovely horses Alfie and Bonnie. The two young girls helping to handle the horses were ever so patient and calm. Booking was very easy just 2 days in advance and price was well worth the experience.
